Xbox one won't work or reset after update

My Xbox one just stopped working yesterday. It turns on but the screen stays black after but i can still press the home button and have the turn off/restart options come up. Ive read that this was a problem for many people recently but it only just started happening to me. So I cant get to the settings to factory reset, and as well trying to factory reset with the console buttons isn't working (though im not too sure if im doing it right as I keep coming across mixed information. None of it seems to work either way)

My xbox just dosent turn on it goes on for like 5 seconds and turns back off i’ve tried everything but it dosent work

I just got off the phone with Xbox support since I’m having the same issue… I already tried to follow the manual update but it wouldn’t go through (that’s why I called Xbox support). The gentleman says this is a known issue with no known estimated fix as of yet but to keep checking Xbox support site for more information. Fingers crossed this is updated soon.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the console. Please try power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down. Then unplug it for 30 seconds. Then hold the Sync button (left side near the USB port on the original Xbox One and just below the power button on the S and X consoles) and the Eject button for the console then press the power button and hold until you hear a second start up noise. If you are using the Xbox One All Digital console then you only need to hold the Sync button and then press the power button to reset. You should now see a new screen. Scroll over to Restart/Reset and reset the console to factory settings. I've been experiencing the same issue i.e. codes do not exist. WTH. Had to reset my Xbox and now it won't download any game.

Did you manage to get the update to work after you reset the Xbox?
