Xbox One Won't Turn On

Two nights ago we had a thunderstorm. The power briefly flickered in the house and everything turned off and on about two times before they resumed to normal. My Xbox One was on during this time and remained on without issue after for the rest of the evening.
However, yesterday morning when going to turn it on, it would start up and then immediately turn off. As of now, it won't even turn on. The AC Adapter light remains orange at all times. I have done multiple troubleshooting techniques that include unplugging
the cords and letting them remain out for a period of time before plugging them back in. I have also tried several outlets around the house and the problem persists. The AC adapter remains orange when plugged in and immediately goes off when unplugged. Is
it the AC adapter that is shot or is my Xbox kaput? Any other tips or tricks to fix this before taking the next step to repairs/replace are greatly appreciated.

Xbox One won't turn on?

I returned home from college about a week ago and tried to turn on my Xbox One, and it failed to start. I did some research, and was lead to believe that it was an issue with the power supply - I would turn the Xbox on, the button would light up, and the
console would play the "On" sound. However, instead of a solid white, the light on the power brick would blink orange and white. This would be also accompanied with some intermittent humming/buzzing from the power brick. This would happen for a few seconds
before stopping completely.

I tried "hard resetting" by holding the power button for 10 seconds, and I also replaced the power supply entirely, none of which helped.

The last time it worked for me was shortly after Thanksgiving - I updated the console and actually left to go back to school before it finished - maybe it shut down mid-update? Or the update itself caused this problem?

But yeah, my main question is, having already replaced the power supply, is this definitely a hardware issue or did I miss something? And if it IS bricked, what can I do? I tried registering the console on the Xbox website - that didn't work, and any warranty
is probably expired by now anyways.

First, unplug the console for 10 seconds and then plug it back in to reset the surge protection in the power supply (internal or external).

If that does not work you may need a repair of your console for a failed power supply.

Hello!

It does sound like the AC adapter is having issues. When unplugging the power cord I find the orange light stays lite for a while before going out for the Xbox's that I've owned. If you have a friend that has an Xbox One you could see if you can borrow
it real quick to rule out the AC adapter.

Unsure if Xbox Support sends them out for free or not but if it is the AC adapter you can reach out to Xbox Support and check.
