Xbox One won't turn on.

I have owned my Xbox One since launch day 2013 and previously had never had any issues. However, now it does not want to turn on. Basically what happens is that when I plug in the console, the power brick LED lights up to orange, then white (it's usually
in always on mode) and starts making the usual powering up noise. But then, it will all of a sudden make a beeping noise and the power brick goes back to orange. It will then do this another two times before giving up trying to turn on. Pressing the button
on the Xbox will make the normal turning on beeping noise but it will not light up or turn on. I believe the issue is with the console, not the power brick. I have tried the Xbox One troubleshoot page but nothing has worked. I just ran out of warranty in February
and I do not want to either pay for a repair/replacement, or launch a dispute with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to get a repair/replacement done for free. Please help.

I returned home from college about a week ago and tried to turn on my Xbox One, and it failed to start. I did some research, and was lead to believe that it was an issue with the power supply - I would turn the Xbox on, the button would light up, and the
console would play the "On" sound. However, instead of a solid white, the light on the power brick would blink orange and white. This would be also accompanied with some intermittent humming/buzzing from the power brick. This would happen for a few seconds
before stopping completely.

I tried "hard resetting" by holding the power button for 10 seconds, and I also replaced the power supply entirely, none of which helped.

The last time it worked for me was shortly after Thanksgiving - I updated the console and actually left to go back to school before it finished - maybe it shut down mid-update? Or the update itself caused this problem?

But yeah, my main question is, having already replaced the power supply, is this definitely a hardware issue or did I miss something? And if it IS bricked, what can I do? I tried registering the console on the Xbox website - that didn't work, and any warranty
is probably expired by now anyways.

First, unplug the console for 10 seconds and then plug it back in to reset the surge protection in the power supply (internal or external).

If that does not work you may need a repair of your console for a failed power supply.

Sorry you are having this issue with your Xbox One the way you were explaining it is that your power brick is failing so from I understand this generally happens when the Xbox One powers on and does its power-up cycle it checks the voltage coming from the
plug to the power brick to the console. If that voltage is not correct it automatically shuts the console off as a Fail-Safe to protect it from getting damaged therefore getting the white to orange light on the power bar. Here is a link to the no power support

Suggestions:

Try removing the console away from all the other plugs on your power bar if you have it plugged up to a power bar ( if you have a lot of stuff plugged up to a power strip this could cause
a fluctuation in power and voltage)

Plug the console directly into a wall plug( if there is a voltage problem this will help restore the voltage to normal)

Check to see if the power brick is getting too hot as in you cannot put your hands on it longer than 10 seconds

Make sure the power brick has sufficient air flow not too crowded and entertainment center



I know some of this may sound dumb but sometimes it's the little things that fix the problem if none of these work then you really have no choice but to order a new power brick for the console.

 

A quick one its not recommended to use a powerstrip, If your console is out of warranty then you will have to pay.

 

Sorry no real help to offer here, but apparently I have the same exact issue. Furthermore I tried my friends power brick to test out, same result, didn't work. But unfortunately another friend brought their console over, used my power brick and it worked
fine. Conclusion the console is very likely the issue. $$

 

Today i just junked my 3rd console less then 7 months since aug 2015 first one HDD went dead second one power brick and network card goes bad today 3rd a final console power brick fried the network card when it would turn on. roughly 2 weeks ago console
didn't turn on the proper way it suppose to by controller or power button. i hit the ejector botton then it turns on ran ok for 2 weeks till this morning now it wont detect my hard wired cable modem. took it back to best buy they tried to get it going couldnt
get it to turn on i showed them what i did i showed them they said thats not right ejector botton turning console on, they said even thou i have a 2 year warranty on it for replacement they declined to replace it so i tossed it in the parking lot crushed it
with my truck left it there.

 

If your like me and have spare PC parts laying around, I would just convert a spare PC PSU to run my Xbox One, I have to be resourceful these days as money is hard to come by.

Plenty of web sites/you tube showing you how to do this.

 

Better chalk up #4 console to scrap pile 6 hrs with support they could fix the issues so i quit with xbox1
