Xbox One won't turn on properly

I have my console set to instant-on mode and ever since the last update, it won't turn on properly.

I'll turn it on with my controller, or tap the on/off sensor. And it'll boot up but when it does, it freezes before the apps fully come onto the screen, even before the background loads.

The only solution I've found it to take it off instant-on mode, but I don't like doing that because then I have to wait for game updates, and I can't download anything while the console is powered off.

Is this something Microsoft is aware of, and is trying to fix or is it a problem of my own? I haven't been able to find much about it online or anything.

Xbox One won't turn on?

I returned home from college about a week ago and tried to turn on my Xbox One, and it failed to start. I did some research, and was lead to believe that it was an issue with the power supply - I would turn the Xbox on, the button would light up, and the
console would play the "On" sound. However, instead of a solid white, the light on the power brick would blink orange and white. This would be also accompanied with some intermittent humming/buzzing from the power brick. This would happen for a few seconds
before stopping completely.

I tried "hard resetting" by holding the power button for 10 seconds, and I also replaced the power supply entirely, none of which helped.

The last time it worked for me was shortly after Thanksgiving - I updated the console and actually left to go back to school before it finished - maybe it shut down mid-update? Or the update itself caused this problem?

But yeah, my main question is, having already replaced the power supply, is this definitely a hardware issue or did I miss something? And if it IS bricked, what can I do? I tried registering the console on the Xbox website - that didn't work, and any warranty
is probably expired by now anyways.

xbox one won't turns on

First, unplug the console for 10 seconds and then plug it back in to reset the surge protection in the power supply (internal or external).

If that does not work you may need a repair of your console for a failed power supply.

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try power cycling the console by holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down?

Hopefully that should solve the issue for you.

No, unfortunately that didn't work for me. I've tried unplugging for 10 seconds in the past.

It still freezes upon an instant-on startup.

Hello Pnged. Is your xbox having cooling issues?

1. Make sure your fans are exposed so they have good air flow

2. Make sure your room is not hot.

3. Unplug your xbox for 10 minutes and let it cool

My xbox is definitely not having cooling issues. It freezes when it's at it's coldest, when you turn it on.

My room is kept at 68 degrees Fahrenheit at all times, and my xbox is sitting right in the middle of my desk.

I'm not new to technology, I know when something is my fault, and I know how to keep hardware cooled.

I sent it back to Microsoft they say nothing wrong with it !

you should know I in China ! It cost a lot to do that !

They sent it back to you and said it was fine? That's disappointing to say the least.

Probably going to end up selling my One. I've been a loyal Xbox fan for a while now, but this is just ridiculous.

I would suggest getting your xbox cleaned for dust, if that doesn't work, i would suggest getting he power supply or fan looked at. If the system fan isnt working or the dust build up is too great, there is a chance the xbox won't turn on properly. If
the power supply is suffering, their could be a similar effect. But the safest, fast, and cost effective route is getting your xbox cleaned for dust, due to the fact that your xbox may just need a cleaning but if that's not the problem, i would move on to
the fan, and the last option would be the power supply.

Just to clarify, When you turn on the Xbox it won't turn on at all? Have you tried power cycling as suggested? Or made sure the TV source is set properly ?

You may have a ventilation issue and the console is overheating. Check around the placement of your console.

If your console consistently shuts down automatically due to ventilation problems, even after the console is free from clutter and no vents are obstructed, it will need service.

You can request a repair from Device Support. Console registration is required to service your console.
