    Xbox one won't turn if after disconnecting from live.


    This has happened several times now. I'll be randomly disconnected from live, which I'm assuming it's a Comcast issue, and I'll try to turn off my console via holding the xbox button on the controller the selecting the shut down option. I have fast start
    option disabled. Then the screen goes blank like it's shutting down, but the light on the xbox continues to flash, and it never seems the shutoff signal to the TV like it normally does. I'm left having to force shutdown via holding the power button on the
    console for 10 seconds.

    Can anyone tell me what's happening here and how to avoid it?

    so I've had the original xbox one the very first one that came out and have had no problems at all when I'm playing. So then I go out and buy the xbox one S and I've been having problems with disconnecting from xbox live while playing games. So after I got

    been having problems with disconnecting from xbox live. So can someone help? Why does the very first original xbox not have a problem with disconnecting from xbox live?

    Controller disconnects from Xbox live continuously

    Xbox one won't turn if after disconnecting from live.

    I believe that when the light is flashing it is downloading or installing an update. If you have instant on disabled, it's probably finishing it up before it shuts down.

    That is not the issue. I know this because I have automatic updates disabled, and last time it happened I wanted to see if it would fix itself, so I left the room, and when I came back several hours later it was still in its weird limbo state.

    Try turning it off by holding the logo until it shuts down and unplugging the power cord from the console for 5 minutes before trying again

    That works to shut it down and it does then shut down later (no power cord unplugging required). It does not, however, answer my question of why it happens in the first place and how to prevent myself having to do a forced shutdown in the future.

    Xbox one won't turn if after disconnecting from live.

    Unplugging it will clear your cache which may help prevent the issue in the future. As to why it happens, I have no clue there.

    Disconnected from Xbox Live

    Sorry I haven't gotten back to this, but after doing that it seems it won't disconnect from Xbox Live. It will stay logged in for hours and not once will it disconnect.

    Thank you very much for helping me through that.

    The achievement unlock date will change to the date you next turn on the Xbox if you were disconnected from Live for whatever reason. That's why it's got the next day, because that's when you next turned it on after being disconnected.

    Keep getting disconnected randomly
