    Xbox one won't stay on


    When I turn on my Xbox one it begins to start up then it makes the noise as if I pressed the power button and opened the disc tray and shuts itself down. Any help is greatly appreciated. thank you.

    Hi, my Xbox will turn on when I press it, the light comes on but then shortly after it turns off. I can't get onto anything and have getting onto the startup menu error place.

    Can you please try following the support steps in the
    Xbox One will not turn     on support page along with this it may also be worth following the Xbox One turns off unexpectedly support page and hopefully on of these two links should help you further. Can you please reply below to let us know how you get on?

    Make sure the power supply connections are not loose, make sure you are not using a surge protector for the power supply, and try another outlet in a room and see if the problem still occurs. If so, see if you have a friend that will let you borrow their
    Xbox One power supply to see if your console works with that one. If their power supply does work, you will need to replace yours by going to
    http://myservice.xbox.com , register your console, click Replace an Accessory, and select Power Supply. If his Power Supply does not work then it may be a console issue that might need a repair through
    the same site mentioned above. Let us know your results. Thanks,

    I'm sorry to hear that, Greyson.

    Unfortunately, the description of your console's problem sounds like it may be hardware-related; should this be the case, I'm afraid you'd need to have it replaced or serviced. Please note that having an Xbox One serviced through Microsoft is no longer possible, as they have been discontinued for quite some time now.

    • Are there any external devices connected to your console's USB ports?

    • Just for confirmation, have you already tried unplugging your console for a few minutes (5 - 10 is enough) or using a different outlet?

    • Could you try this other boot-up method and let me know if this makes a difference on the no-display issue?

    Display reset:

    - If there's a disc in the console, eject it.

    - Press and hold the console's power button until it shuts down.

    - Press and hold the Power button and the EJECT button until you hear a beep to turn on the console.

    - You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Do not let go until the second beep occurs.

    * If you have an All-digital Xbox One S or an Xbox Series S, you must use the BIND button instead of EJECT.

    It's an Xbox one S and no it doesn't display on my screen at all. It is plugged directly into the wall with no extensions or power cables. I did the boot-up method you wrote down more than once and still no luck.

    Considering the nature of your console's problem and the fact you have already tried all the troubleshooting methods available for this kind of problem, I'm afraid my best advice would be to have your console serviced as it seems its problem is indeed hardware-related. This would also explain why your console is very quiet when you turn it on.
