Xbox One won't show on the TV and it won't turn off

Hey everyone, I've never posted on here, so this is a first.

My issue is with my XBOX One. Whenever I plug in my XBOX One console, it doesn't get a signal from my TV (even all TVs in my house). I only have a power cord, not a power supply brick (I'm planning to buy one this week to see it helps), to hookup to an outlet.
This is the first time I've seen it do this. It was working fine on Monday night, but when I stepped away from it, it wasn't showing on the TV.

•The XBOX button stays on, but won't turn off unless I hold it down

•The controller's light only blinks

•I hear a faint (not harsh from what I've heard) grinding noise from the fan. Not all the time, just periodically. It might be coil whine.

•It's not overheating, it's cool

I'm not sure if the power cord is the problem because I even hooked it up to my old PS3 and it was working fine. The HDMI cable works fine, despite it not showing my XBOX One on the TV (works fine on my PS3 as well).

Please help, I'm not sure whether to send it in for repairs or junk it.
