Xbox One won't recognize external harddrive

My Xbox One will no longer recognize my Seagate 3TB expansion drive. I got it in mid august and it worked great. But the other day i was playing a game which was installed on the external drive and the game suddenly quit. I didn't think anything of it and
just turned my Xbox off and went and did other stuff. Then the next day i went to play and the xbox didn't recognize there was a disk in even though there was so i took the disk out and put it back in. It then commenced to install the game that was already
installed on my external drive. I was confused so i went to the system settings and looked and my external drive wasn't showing up. The little blue light wont light up on the top of the drive. I did all the trouble shooting and got a new USB cable but it still
wont work. I have seen other posts with the same problem but those aren't being answered so i thought id post my own.

xbox only puts out and recieves the 2.4 ghz signal. won't recognize the 5 ghz one unless youre using an external adaptor

REVERTING EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE FROM XBOX BACK TO PC HELP!

I plugged an external drive in my Xbox one and now it won't recognize the drive when I plug it in my pc how do I fix that?

Im Kovi,

Your best bet would be to try the troubleshooting for your drive here:
support.xbox.com/.../console-doesnt-detect-external-storage

If that fails I would connect it to a computer and see if the computer recognizes the drive. If it does I would format the drive on the computer, then reconnect it to the Xbox and reformat it to the Xbox. There may have been some file corruption. It may
also be the drive itself and these steps will help determine that.

I've already gone through all of those suggestions on there, none of them work.

Nope, didn't work....none of the usb ports will work with it, I've tried everything I can think of

alternatively you may want to look at the externals support page as well

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

Can you check to see if the External HardDrive has a light that flashes when on and solid when it's been used by the Xbox, this will make it easier to know if it's the External HardDrive or the Xbox, once it's formatted to Xbox One plugging it into a PC
might not let you open it without won't lreformat the External HardDrive to PC then lose your Xbox Data so I would suggest trying it in another Xbox One but it will make a sound and should have a pop up saying detected a new device process to format device,

If it doesn't work in another Xbox One then we can safely say the External HardDrive is defected and if it's still in warranty I would suggest contacting the manufacturer to see what can be done,
