Xbox One won't recognize any Xbox 360 disc (Fallout 3 / Mass Effect)

I'm trying to play Fallout 3 on my Xbox One, but when I insert the disc nothing happens or I eventually get an error message that the disc in not compatible with Xbox One. The game runs fine on my Xbox 360. The same thing happens with Mass Effect.

What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

same with me my xbo games work but no 360 games or dvds.

 

Buying a old white 360 and popping in my hard drive

My pawn shop after like 2 years all of a sudden has 3 white 360s, and been wanting to buy one since my 360 died.

Question: I was playing Fallout 3 and Mass Effect 2 when my 360 died. None of the data was in cloud, when ME2 disc is in One no save files found. I have the hard drive that was plugged into the 360 that died. If I plug it into a 360 from pawn shop, and login to my account, and pop in my Mass Effect 2 disc, will my save files be there? And if they are, can I upload them to cloud to play ME2 on Xbox One?

Are you connected to Xbox LIVE when trying to play the game from the disc?

You will definitely need to download the digital copy from the store by using the disc, and the disc will just act like a license key (i.e. the content on the disc is never used)

If you've already done this, then please send some more information (i.e. error codes), so me and/or other Xbox users can assist more.

 

Thanks for the reply, and the information that the game has to be downloaded from XBox LIVE. I didn't realize that. I am connected to XBox LIVE - hardwired into my router, and I've checked the connection. All of that is OK. Just to make sure, I went
to the store and selected one of the Fallout 3 DLCs to install, and it seems to be installing OK. However, when I insert the Fallout 3 disc, nothing happens. I've read that I should be prompted to install the game, but that doesn't happen. I know that the
disc is OK, because it still runs fine on my old Xbox 360.

How long does it take before I'm askec to install the game?

Oh, and as for error messages, I'm not getting any. it's just that I'm not getting the prompt to install the game.

 

RE: the error message.

A couple fo times I received a message that Xbox One could not read the disc, but I cleaned the disc and am no longer getting those messages.

One more question. I can purchase Fallout 3 on line for download to my Xbox 360. If I do that, will it then download to my Xbox One?

An additional piece of information: I just inserted the disc for Fable III, and received the same message that Xbox One could not load the disc with the code 0x80820002. This is the same message I received from both Fallout3 and Mass Effect before I cleaned
the discs.

Just tried doing a hard reset, and the error message 0x80820002 reappeared when I inserted the disc. When I ejected and reinserted it the error message did not show up, but nothing else happened.

A couple things, if you purchase the game digitally on your account it will show up under your Ready To Install list on the console. The error that you're getting generally refers to a disc drive error. To help clear that up please run through this

Thanks for your suggestions. I've tried everything, but nothing works. Guess there's either a glitch in my disc drive or maybe a bit of corruption in the compatibility software in my machine. Since all my Xbox One games on disc work just fine, it's not
worth pursuing the matter further at this time.

I did re-purchase Fallout 3 digitally and downloaded it. It works fine, and I was able to re-download all the DLC that I had previously purchased without any problems. Since there are only a few 360 games that I really want to play again and they are relatively
inexpensive these days, I'll just re-purchase them and download them digitally.

Did you resolve the problem, because I have tried all this and I have problems too, No DVD or 360 can be read on my XBO, :c

Downloaded content, bluray and XBO disc works fine....

 

Ive had the same issue trying to play fallout new vegas. And i trid different 360 disks.
