Xbox one won't read Monster Hunter World disc, but reads every other game disc fine.

Ok so right off let me say my disc for Monster Hunter World is spotless & in perfect condition. It's been in it's case on my desk for the past 3 months, this disc i've had since launch has been working with no issues for a year & a half. But for the last
2 months I had been playing Monster Hunter through game pass so I had my copy shelved until recently when my game pass expired then returned to my physical copy today to find this issue. My other physical copy games work everytime I put their discs in except
for Monster Hunter World. I even uninstalled Monster Hunter World & one of the few times it actually read the disc I re-installed the game with no issues so im positive my disc is not the problem here my xbox is just refusing to read the disc 95% of time I
pop it in. Does anyone have a quick fix or solutions? Also does anyone have this similar issue with Monster Hunter World specifically or your xbox not reading a certain games disc but rest of your discs work with no issues?

Hello Pariah,

Thanks for coming back to the forums. It seems like you have found out that the disc is somehow damaged, and is the cause of this issue. At this point the only options would be replacing the disc or getting the game digitally. Especially if you want to try
out the new expansion when it comes out!

Thanks for keeping us up to date. If that is the only disk that doesn't read correctly, then it isn't the console. If it was the console it would affect more than one. It is possible the disk got damaged somehow, it could be warped. Even the slightest warp
will cause it to be unreadable. Have you thought of maybe trying to get a different disk of the same game? Take it to your nearest game store have them try it on a console they have there. Wouldn't recommend a repair for one disk not playing as it is most
likely something with the disk.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with launching one game on your console.

If you haven't already, I would recommend reviewing
this article that covers how to troubleshoot certain discs if others are still launching on your console.

Additionally, I would recommend
re-installing the Blu-Ray app if you have it on your console, as this has been know to help alleviate this matter.

Alternatively you can try
switching the power mode on your console to Energy-Saving. This can be done by following these steps:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > Power & startup.
Select Power mode & startup, and then select from the
Power mode drop-down menu to change the setting

Give this a try and let us know if this works for you!
