Xbox One Won't Read Copy of GTA V

    Xbox One Won't Read Copy of GTA V


    My Xbox One won't read my copy of GTA V. The game isn't digitally downloaded and the disc has NO scratches or any other visible marks on the disc. Every time I try to put the disc in it starts to read and then every couple of seconds it makes a monotone
    buzz sound, almost like the disc reading process is being restarted maybe? The weirdest part is though, when I tried putting my GTA V in I had My Games & Apps open and I accidentally opened UFC (which also is NOT digitally downloaded) and I had access to the
    entire game, not just a trial/demo. I'm not sure if this matters or means anything but I figured it might be a little more informative? I've tried all the methods that involve putting the game in in different ways or changing to energy saving power mode, etc.
    Nothing has even remotely seemed to work. I even uninstalled GTA V which in itself is a huge deal because of the time it'll take to reinstall. Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Digital Download cost more than retail hard copy!!!! REALLY!!!

    It just seems hard for me to see how they can justify charging more for a virtual copy of a game then compared to a hard copy.

    E.G. GTA V for a hard copy £42.99 www.game.co.uk/.../grand-theft-auto-v-301143

    for XBL copy £54.99 store.xbox.com/.../4f0a3089-ba2c-4f3d-9e38-102a41cbd885

    Its not as if GTA V is a newly released game but you still have to pay full price for the virtual copy.

    Destiny is another example.

    Yes as a customer it will save me storage space and if the disc gets damaged I won't have to purchase a 2nd copy. But then company data bases and virtual storage can get corrupted or hacked causing loss of customer data.

    Currently EA Access is in Free Play Days until June 22nd so if you have EA Access downloaded, this is likely why you're able to play UFC without any restrictions. More info on that promotion

    Just to let everyone know, unless you don't already know, that GTA V Online won't be availalble on launch on GTA V but will be 2 weeks or something after the game is released. That's what I read online..

    GTA V is a Xbox 360 game so it won't work on the Xbox One.

    There is no Xbox One version of the game & the One is not backwards compatible.

    If your 360 has died you will need a new 360 or get your 360 repaired in order to play GTA V

    Hey there Arnogro.

    You'll need to purchase a separate copy of GTA V for your Xbox One as it isn't available via Backward Compatibility.
