Xbox One won't power on

So I've tried two different power bricks and the same thing happens. When I plug it in the light is white, then it changes from white to orange and back again a few times and then stays orange. When I press the power button when the light is white the console
makes the "turning on" noise but nothing else happens, the console is still off. When the light is orange and I press the power button, nothing happens. At first I thought the power supply was the problem, since I'd had it plugged into a surge protector for
a few months I thought that that was probably the issue. I went out and got a second official microsoft power brick and it has the same issue, plugged directly into a wall outlet. Any help is appreciated.

EDIT: I mixed up the color order the first time, it's white when I first plug it in, not orange.

Xbox won't power on

So I made the mistake of plugging my Xbox straight into the wall instead of my surge protector (my international adapters are too big to conveniently plug into the same strip), and when I plugged my laptop into the surge protector, I ended up dropping the
circuit breaker in the house. Everything that was protected was fine, but my box won't power on now. The light on the adapter brick doesn't come on.

Halp. What do.

Xbox won't power on

Luckily, there is some surge protection built into the power adapter block with the internal fuse, so your console should be fine.

However, the power supply is likely shot, so you'll need to get a replacement. The only way to get a replacement PSU is to contact Microsoft

here (use phone or chat).

Not sure if you tried a different outlet set in the house. Given that you've tried 2 different power supplies, it might be an issue with the console itself which would require a repair via
https://myservice.xbox.com . However, before going that route, try a different outlet in another room with both power supplies. If neither work you may need to get the repair completed. You could also
verify that your power supplies are both good if you have a friend's Xbox you can try with. Let us know your results. Thanks,

Parity : I kinda figured as much, I might try to buy a working motherboard for as cheap as possible... like, really cheap.

ArminatorX : Annoyingly the previous owner had already opened it, presumably to attempt a repair themselves, unfortunately with very little success. I probably wouldn't have sent it to Microsoft anyway just because it's an older console
and I'm still waiting for my X to be returned. This was more of a "project console" to see if I could get it working, but it's defeated me.

Unfortunately, here in the official Xbox forums we can't give instructions for any self repair attempts.

Since you already opened the console yourself, you also can't send the console to Microsoft for repairs anymore.

So the only solution we can officially offer here is to go out and buy a new console, I'm afraid.

Maybe other forums that specialize in console repair might be more able to help you. But in this official Xbox forum, buying a new console is the solution to your problem.

Unfortunately, there's no way to know where the defect is and we can't even recommend you self-repair the console. You can order Microsoft now or take it to a store in your city.
