Xbox One Won't Power On

When I plug in my Xbox One the power supply goes from orange(standby) to white for just a split second then the light goes off and I have no power at all

Xbox won't power on

So I made the mistake of plugging my Xbox straight into the wall instead of my surge protector (my international adapters are too big to conveniently plug into the same strip), and when I plugged my laptop into the surge protector, I ended up dropping the
circuit breaker in the house. Everything that was protected was fine, but my box won't power on now. The light on the adapter brick doesn't come on.

Halp. What do.

Xbox won't power on

Luckily, there is some surge protection built into the power adapter block with the internal fuse, so your console should be fine.

However, the power supply is likely shot, so you'll need to get a replacement. The only way to get a replacement PSU is to contact Microsoft

here (use phone or chat).

Sorry to hear it. Are you plugging the console into a power bar or a wall socket. It is recommended to plug directly into a wall socket as the console has an independent surge protector built in. If that does not solve the issue you will need to set up
a repair of the console or replacement of the power bar.

Good luck getting a service request entered on that site, I've been trying for over an hour to no avail. Keep getting random errors and people in the chat for help say they have to charge 20 bucks since I'm out of warranty to submit my request.

Oh and I'm having the same problem and have been for over a week. Frustrated doesn't begin to describe this.

Sorry to hear it. If you are having issues completing the request from the site then contact phone support for assistance. If you live in North America then dial 1-800-469-9269. Be sure to explain to them that the website is not working.

I'm saying more than a few people have had the same problem. Have we found out if it's the console or just the power supply?

We won't be able to tell that from the website. Give support a call and they'll have some troubleshooting steps that may determine the issue.

Parity : I kinda figured as much, I might try to buy a working motherboard for as cheap as possible... like, really cheap.

ArminatorX : Annoyingly the previous owner had already opened it, presumably to attempt a repair themselves, unfortunately with very little success. I probably wouldn't have sent it to Microsoft anyway just because it's an older console
and I'm still waiting for my X to be returned. This was more of a "project console" to see if I could get it working, but it's defeated me.

Unfortunately, here in the official Xbox forums we can't give instructions for any self repair attempts.

Since you already opened the console yourself, you also can't send the console to Microsoft for repairs anymore.

So the only solution we can officially offer here is to go out and buy a new console, I'm afraid.

Maybe other forums that specialize in console repair might be more able to help you. But in this official Xbox forum, buying a new console is the solution to your problem.
