xbox one won't power on

Hi

I have an xbox one console that I bought in Canada and brought it back to India where I live. We used it plugged into a step down transformer with no problems. My family just moved to a new house. When setting up the unit I blew out the ac adaptor because
of the voltage differences between CAnada and and India. The console was not plugged in when this happened and suffered no damage. We replaced the AC adaptor with a microsoft xbox one 100 - 240 adaptor and properly plugged it into the step down transformer.
The orange light comes on. We plugged in the console and pressed the start button. It beeps when pressed but will not turn on. I tried to load a disk and when I pressed the button it beeped as well but would not load the disk. Any ideas?

Xbox won't power on

So I made the mistake of plugging my Xbox straight into the wall instead of my surge protector (my international adapters are too big to conveniently plug into the same strip), and when I plugged my laptop into the surge protector, I ended up dropping the
circuit breaker in the house. Everything that was protected was fine, but my box won't power on now. The light on the adapter brick doesn't come on.

Halp. What do.

Xbox won't power on

Luckily, there is some surge protection built into the power adapter block with the internal fuse, so your console should be fine.

However, the power supply is likely shot, so you'll need to get a replacement. The only way to get a replacement PSU is to contact Microsoft

here (use phone or chat).

While I'm not completely sure, it sounds like your console isn't getting enough power. It is recommended that the console is plugged directly into the wall, but it doesn't sound like this is possible in your case. Try holding the Xbox logo on the front of
your console for 10 seconds while it is on (if you can) to completely shut it down. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console, the outlet, and the power brick. Wait 2 minutes, then plug the cord back into the console first, then the brick, and finally
the outlet.

"The orange light comes on." I thought the light was white on the Brick. It is definitely white on my end.

Parity : I kinda figured as much, I might try to buy a working motherboard for as cheap as possible... like, really cheap.

ArminatorX : Annoyingly the previous owner had already opened it, presumably to attempt a repair themselves, unfortunately with very little success. I probably wouldn't have sent it to Microsoft anyway just because it's an older console
and I'm still waiting for my X to be returned. This was more of a "project console" to see if I could get it working, but it's defeated me.

Unfortunately, here in the official Xbox forums we can't give instructions for any self repair attempts.

Since you already opened the console yourself, you also can't send the console to Microsoft for repairs anymore.

So the only solution we can officially offer here is to go out and buy a new console, I'm afraid.

Maybe other forums that specialize in console repair might be more able to help you. But in this official Xbox forum, buying a new console is the solution to your problem.

Unfortunately, there's no way to know where the defect is and we can't even recommend you self-repair the console. You can order Microsoft now or take it to a store in your city.
