Xbox one won't play or install xbox 360 game disc

Hi, I can't seem to get my xbox to read my xbox 360 games. Game that are already on the backwards compatibility list, mass effect 3, doom 3, and dragon age origins. I had problems with lost odyssey too by I got the free digital copy. The digital copys pay
like they should so there is no problem there. Buy I've tried the trouble shooting steps from xbox.com and nothing. I've tried everything I could think of and nothing. I put the disc in and I hear the system spin the disc and it sounds like it's about to read
it and nothing. Even after I downloaded the free copy of lost odyssey I put in the disc version and nothing. I really want to play my old games. And yes they still work in the old xbox 360 I have. I just don't know what else to do. Looking for help on this
issue. Also the xbox one disc and bluray do read. There was a time back in December when blurays won't and just the xbox one disc would only read. But that seems to be fixed now.

HELP ME!

Even if you install an Xbox 360 game to your HDD, you will be required to have a readable disc to play it. You won't be able to play from your scratched disc, because when you install a game, the Xbox 360 still requires you to insert that game and have it
be read to verify you actually own it.

This is unfortunate, but it is a sure-fire way that fights pirated games. Long story short, you must have a readable disc to play a 360 game, weather you install it or not. Sorry.

Do you happen to have a DVD movie laying around to test? Try inserting a DVD movie (non Blu-Ray disc), and let us know if the disc plays. The results of that will help us determine next steps. Keep us posted!

Ok, sorry about the delay. I tried a couple of different plain Jane dvds and it sounds like it reads them for a sec then nothing just like the games from the 360. If I pull up the bluray app it says "there is trouble reading the this. Make sure it's a bluray
or dvd disc and if it's a game launch from that app list instead. (0x91d7000)".

No worries on that delay! Unfortunately if the Xbox One console is having similar disc read errors with both Xbox 360 discs and DVD discs, your Xbox One console may need to be repaired. To begin the repair process, please visit our

Installing a game off a disc (either on the Xbox One or 360) simply means that the game files are installed to run off the system's hard drive instead of running directly off the disc (which is required for One games.) The disc acts as a license, and thus
if you try to play the game without the disc you won't be able to play the game.

The disc still is reading when you're playing the game, even if it's installed on your system (requirement on Xbox One). When you start downloading/installing a game, it won't download when the console is off. This was the SAME on the Xbox 360; you had to
have your Xbox on to download any games. Don't worry about the wear and tear, it running like that won't hurt the Xbox, they are made for that.

like for some reason, I can’t play Xbox one game discs cuss they won’t install. I can only install and play Xbox 360 game discs and games that have been installed from the store.

XBA_Hype

Select digital games for Xbox 360 and the original Xbox work on Xbox One. The ones you own will appear in the Ready to Install section of your games & apps. Select the game to install it.
For disc-based games, insert the disc. If it's on the list, the game will download. You'll need to keep the disc in the drive to play.
Games for the original Xbox also work on Xbox One, but compatibility is one way: you can't play Xbox One games on Xbox 360 or the original Xbox.
