Xbox One won't play DVD due to region lock

DVD drives come pre region locked for their sale region regardless if it is xbox,pc,dvd player etc and is thus impossible to lock it as another region. Furthermore it is unlikely your xbox will play said DVD due to region diffrence, though I am not 100%
sure on that last bit.

Changing region won't work for dvd/blu-ray discs.

It is region locked so will only play discs from the region you are in,for example if you are in Europe then your console will only play PAL region dvd's/blu-rays or region free discs.

[/quote]PAL and NTSC are display technologies that have been adopted in regions, they do not define the region locking.

I have several DVDs imported from America that work in my Xbox because those DVDs are not region locked. Just because a DVD is released in the US does not mean they have to 'lock' it to region 1.

Several of my 360 games have come from the States, and they play perfectly in my 360 because they are region free.

PAL and NTSC stopped being an issue years ago, I don't know a single person who owns a TV that can't handle both types of signal.

Yep,that's it,just the power cable.

Another thing to remember is that U.S. blu-rays/dvd films won't play on a European Xbox if you are intending to use your console to watch dvd's/blu-rays & a lot of digital content is region locked.

Disc based games are region free though.
