  1. Xbox One won't play disc games/installed games/apps. Dashboard/Home unresponsive.

I put in the Minecraft Xbox One Edition disc earlier and walked away for a moment. I'm used to the console loading the game in under a minute so though it was odd when I came back that it was still at the Dashboard. So I clicked on the Minecraft picture
on the dashboard, heard the usual chime...and waited for about another 2-3 minutes. Nothing.

I then scrolled down to my pinned apps and games and clicked on Minecraft Xbox One Edition. *The 'We are loading you're game/You're game will be ready soon.' message began to flash constantly on the screen. Holding down the middle button on the controller caused
it to stop on the screen, but upon hitting cancel it resumed flashing. Removed disc, flashing continued. Was unable to get console to respond other than being able to scroll through menus (was unable to actually click on anything).

    Queue Hard Reset.

I allowed everything to load on the Dashboard/Home. I tried the Minecraft disc again. Repeat of above.

    Hard Reset.

Thinking it was perhaps just the Minecraft disc, I inserted FF Type-0 HD's disc. Waited 2-3 minutes, nothing. Scrolled to pinned games and apps, clicked on FF Type-0 HD. The 'We are loading you're game/You're game will be ready soon.' message began to flash
constantly on the screen again. Removed disc.

Did a Hard Reset. Left powered off and unplugged for 10-20 minutes.(Unplugged internet as well.)

Did a bit of research during and decided to turn off Instant-On. Nope.

Logged off my account and logged on my brother's. Nada.

Decided to try a game I had installed. Went into 'My games and apps.' and clicked on it. Nothing. Went to the pinned version of it. The 'We are loading you're game/You're game will be ready soon.' message began to flash constantly on the screen.

    Hard Reset.

Made sure to let everything load on the Dashboard/Home. Clicked on the pinned Netflix app. 'We are loading you're game/You're game will be ready soon.' *flash* *flash* *flash*

Only thing I didn't do (that I could think of/instructed to do in troubleshooting was test my network connection
because it wouldn't respond when clicked on.

*The only reason I know that it was the 'We are loading you're game/You're game will be ready soon.' message is because I held the middle button and it stayed on the screen until I hit 'cancel'. It was flashing very quickly and I couldn't read it otherwise.

Gonna call Customer Service in the morning.

This started today, after the latest update a few weeks ago. However, it was working fine before this weekend (I was away due to holiday).

    :)

    Games and apps

It goes to the xbox dashboard but it won't let play a game either one from a disc or saved on my console. It also won't play apps

  3. my mordern warfare 3 is not working

If you have it installed then play it from your game library. My game shows up as Unrecognised Disc on the dashboard and it won't play unless I play it from the game library.

same exact thing is happening to me. been looking for answers for the last few days and the only thing left for me to try is a factory reset but i really don't wanna lose my minecraft worlds. this update basically locks all the content you already have.
you should be able to play anything you install afterwards, which would help if you could actually uninstall anything.

I would advise to try a hard reset to see if that fixes anything, you will however need to redownload all that is on the internal storage device, anything on a external storage device should be fine.

Other then that contacting Xbox Support is a good step.

    @Cordawg15

You shouldn't loose any save games when doing a factory reset, since save games are also saved to Xbox Live when the console is connected to the internet, so I'm assuming it will be the same for the Minecraft worlds

I have been having this same exact issue, having to eventually resort to using the USB restore method to get my system back. It will work for a few days but will have to reset system. I had to reset again this morning, and then after a few hours of playing
    it started acting up again.

This seems to be tied to the latest Dashboard upgrade.

The new update *** up the disc reader. Maybe there'll be an update to fix it, or maybe the update actually did ruin the disc reader. I think it's either a wait for a fix, or contact support for a replacement thing. It definitely did happen right when it
updated because I started up Rock Band 4, made it to the main menu, then accepted the console update, and then it couldn't read the disc anymore post-update. Literally only 20 minutes later and the disc reader is chugging and broken.

  8. Xbox One won't play disc games/installed games/apps. Dashboard/Home unresponsive.

I talked to Sarah, who basically changed the subject we I asked her to give me her employee ID.

Said that she had never talked to the same customer twice and that they only accepted inbound calls. And that she'd only been there a couple of months.

Alright, so, I told her what was going on, what I had tried.

She had me Hard Reset then try another game (a digital copy is what I tried). It began flashing the message across the screen. I explained to her that it was rather difficult to click on anything as
it was flashing and unresponsive. She wanted me see if I had an update pending (guess what...I did.). But I did not, that I could see, have an option to trigger it.

So she basically told me that I'd needed to 'leave the Xbox on for a few hours so it could update.' Or do an offline update. Or get a repair. (Never said
anything about Factory Reset...(which I may try later on to see if that will perhaps fix it.) shouldn't that be the step
before a repair when it comes to an update issue? Xbox One won't play disc games/installed games/apps. Dashboard/Home unresponsive. o_O)

Upon another Hard Reset (as the console will not turn off normally while the message is flashing) I went back to the System & Updates. And it said that the Update was successful. I told her this.

She basically ignored this and a lot of what I was saying. 'We tend to have issues posted on the Service website but I don't see anything on there.'
Was the reply I received when I told her that I had posted on the support forums and that others were having this problem as well.

Her tone of voice and attitude was of an uncaring nature, and she talked to me as if I didn't know what I was doing. Basically like you would talk to a child.

All I wanted to do was play Minecraft this weekend. T_T

  9. I just thought, she didn't ask for (nor address me by) name.

Nor did she ask for my Gamertag or for any verification.

And she only told me her name because I asked for it at the end of the call. (I would have remembered otherwise as I have a cousin of the same name.)

Instead of a hard reset in meant a factory reset in my previous post. Sorry about that

  11. I thought that's what you meant, so no worries.

  12. Just thought I'd let you all know that Factory Reset has seemed to solve my problem! Not gonna say that it
has solved it 100% as it randomly cropped up a few days after the update, but I am able to click on the pinned apps (after I reinstalled them anyway) with no obvious problems! Xbox One won't play disc games/installed games/apps. Dashboard/Home unresponsive. :D

Currently syncing my main Minecraft world, rather happy that it did save them to Xbox Live!

So I'm gonna go ahead and say that this has been answered! Thanks for the help! Xbox One won't play disc games/installed games/apps. Dashboard/Home unresponsive. :)
