xbox one won't play any games

Yesturday my xbox was working fine but today when i woke to play ghosts it would act like it was loading the game but then kick me to home. So i looked at the disc, wiped it and put it back in same thing so i tried my two other games madden 25 and dead rising
3 (which are brand new got them last week) same thing then i tried my downloaded games peggle 2, halo spartan ****, and killer instinct. Guess what it didn't play those either so i tried ghosts again and this time it said try signing out and signing in if
it happens again try restarting your xbox before signing in (0x8b100041). i havnt touched the dev kit or anything just watching tv using apps and playin with friends. can some help me please.

Xbox One X won't play any games

Sorry about your problem with your Xbox One X.

Things you need to try:

Make sure the console has plenty of space and is well ventilated

The console must be connected either directly into the mains supply at the wall socket or to a known working power strip that does not contain a surge protector. Surge protectors can cause havoc with the Xbox One (all models) as the power supplies are already
surge protected.

If you are still having issues, you should return your console. It may be quicker to contact the store, or online retailer you purchased it rather than Microsoft, as they may be able to replace this console for you sooner.

Thanks, yeah Microsoft said to ship it in and in 21-30 days I'd get it back. I just setup and RMA to MS Store online and picked a new (non-Scorpio) edition from Best Buy and it works. Well except for one thing, when I hook my cable box up to the xbox it
fails the 4k tests and will only display in 1080p. However when I hook it up to the TV with the same cable, it will do 4k @60Hz. What's up with that?

(Sorry if this is a silly/obvious question but) have you tried rebooting the X1? (Make sure it's a full power off, not a standby).

Also I would do a network test just to rule that out.

And what about non-games - i.e. does Xbox Video work?

I've had this exact same problem before with ghost and DR3. The only way I found to fix it is to do a full power down, I even pulled the plug for 30 seconds as well. I think it has something to do with the system thinking another game is already running
so it won't start a new one.

Thanks man! Yeah Xbox support wanted me to mail it in and they'd mail it back in 30 days. No way, I just RMA'd it to Microsoft Store and picked up a new one from Best Buy which works fine except for one thing. When I hook my cable box up to the XBOX,
the cable box fails it's 4k tests. When I hook it straight to the TV, it passes the 4k tests. Is there any setting or to make that work or is the pass through not 4k capable?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Where did you get the Xbox One from? Was it new or 2nd hand? Do you have the code to hand?

If you haven't already, have you tried resetting the Xbox keeping apps and games?

You can play the games but the Xbox One S won't benefit from any of the Xbox One X enhancements such as higher detailed textures and quicker loading times etc.
