Xbox One Won't Open Apps

I was playing my Xbox One last night when a sudden power outage happened throughout my whole house. The outage only lasted for a blink of the eye, but it turned my xbox off. When I turned my xbox back on it took me to the home screen as usual, I did have to reconnect to the internet. Then I tried to open a video streaming app--and got a black screen.

After that I tried several things:

1. Restarting xbox

2. Turning off xbox for >5min

3. Unplugged power cord from back of xbox for >5min.

4. Restarted internet modem and router for >30sec.

5. Tried opening other apps

6. Tried running games from the cloud and from disc

The xbox turns on every time with no problem. I can even get DVDs to work with the blue ray player. Everything else (youtube, games, video streaming etc) does not work--they will act like they're opening, but I only get a black screen.

I have the same issue. I have no idea what the problem is and I've tried dozens of troubleshooting. This is unacceptable!

There's a lot of possible reasons you're unable to open the Xbox app. One of which is having a corrupted app file. To help you resolve this concern, I suggest that you perform the troubleshooting steps below:

Step 1: Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps using the link below. This can help remove conflicts with an app from Microsoft Store.

Step 2: Reset Xbox app from Settings.

Click Start and click Settings.
Select System. Select Apps & features.
Find the Xbox app and click Advanced options.
Click Reset. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect. Launch the Xbox app.

Step 3: Delete temporary files.

Click Start and click Settings.
Select System.
Select Storage.
Select This PC.
Click Temporary files.
Choose Temporary files.
Click Remove files.

Check for updates on Windows Update and install all updates including optional/additional updates.
Open the Microsoft Store, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner ''download and updates'' and click on ''get updates'' and update everything.
Also install the Xbox Companion app, log in with your account, reboot to apply updates, and try using the Xbox app again.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues with your Xbox App. Is there any error message that you can share?

Please try running the following PowerShell script to re-register the new Store:

In the Search box, type CMD

Right click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator

In the command prompt, enter the following command:

PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"
