Xbox One won't open anything unless I perform a hard reset

This happens about 1 time in 5 that I use my Xbox and it seems like a widespread issue.

Microsoft, when can we see a fix for this problem?

Spotify App won't load and freezes my Xbox after my Xbox has been "off" all night

This has been a recent problem for my Xbox One X. I will go to open my Spotify app after my Xbox has been turned off all night and the Spotify app will just infinitely load and I can't access Home or do anything unless I hard reset but after I hard reset,
everything will be fine.

Power cycle/hard reset is different from a normal restart as the restart most likely won't help. Follow this link and perform the hard reset as described: Restart or Power Cycle Xbox One Console

 

After powering the console off, try unplugging it for 5 minutes. Also, when you are done with an app or game close it by highlighting it on your Home screen, pressing the menu button, and choosing Exit. As a temporary fix, that has helped me avoid having
to do hard resets.

 

I am having the same issue. I already restored the factory default settings of my one, which fixed the issue for exactly one day. Could this be a hardware issue as well?

 

Instant On has been broken since the December update, annoyingly Microsoft won't even acknowledge it, let alone fix it.

Actually it is acknowledged by Microsoft. There is a message somewhere that confirms that. I saw it in the Xbox preview app in the announcements. They are working on a fix at this time.

 

I now switched my One to energy saving mode. It took the console about 3 minutes to get me logged in. It showed three times the Welcome screen before the Dashboard was successfully loaded.

Would be nice if they publicised it more then! I've been posting on here about the issue for a couple of months at least and with the amount of new threads that pop up every day, none of which ever get a reply from anyone official, surely it warrants a sticky
or something?

 

I agree Gooner1, unfortunately i'm not with Microsoft and just passing in the info i've seen in an announcement.

 

Well fingers crossed if they're at least aware of it we can hope to see it in a not too distant update.

Really like the benefits of Instant On when it's working properly, but it's really annoying when it's not

 

I'm having the exact same problem as soupcan3 said. I turn on my x box and when I'm in the dashboard none of the application I want to start wont open. neither games. a hard reset fix it but when I turn off and later start the console again give me the same
issue...

 

I assume I have a slightly different problem by now. Because I deactivated instant on as mentioned before, but when I start my Xbox I only get a black screen after the green loading screen. I have to push the Guide Button one the controller once again, to
trigger the login.

 

Glad others are having this issue, not just me. Well not glad, but you get the idea. Very annoying to have to do this frequently

 

Over the past few days I've had to do this every time I turn it on. After I perform the hard reset, it works no problem.

I've already tried everything suggested, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions?
