Xbox one wont install disks.

Just more or less curious if any one else has experienced this problem. I have several games installed yet when i go to reinstall a game and play it (assassins creed unity, evolve) it will not read the disk. Yet when i put in the witcher 3 which i already
have installed it has no problem reading it. Basically i cannot install new games as it seems. Would this be a hardware issue? On the other hand would it be worth losing saves ect to see if it is software related and might just need a total format and reinstall
of operating system. If anybody has had this issue and fixed it without buying a new one please suggest fixes.

I have already tried tilting when inserting, restarting completely along with unplugging from wall, holding disk while inserting until it pulls harder.

If any other information is needed please just ask.

Should I Upgrade to a New Slim xbox 360 Model or wait for the Next generation console?

The problem is that sometimes it wont read the disk so i cant install it.

Sounds more like a Hardware issue to me, though it could be a software issue. Either way, you can try doing a factory reset of your console, because even if that doesn't work, they'll more than likely do a factory reset anyway if you send it in for a repair.

If you factory reset, so long as you are always connected online, all your saves are automatically backed up to the cloud anyway. The only issue you'll have is if the factory reset doesn't work, you won't be able to reinstall all your disc based games. Unless
of course you have backed them up to an external HDD.

That is also what i am worried about since im half way through MGSV and about to beat witcher 3, but my xbox is well out of warranty so i think id rather just buy a new one instead of pay for repair. I understand them saving money on the drives but c'mon
it was 500 bucks when i bought it .

have you tried cleaning the disks then installing that might help so the disk wont be constantly spinning.

If you have an Xbox One S or One X and installing from disk you could use the machine in Offline mode. This may install
the disk content first and you will still need the online update but it wont be as time consuming as it is an update rather than install. I would suggest you consider doing this after the COD download finishes
