    Xbox One won't eject discs- makes loud grinding noise


    My Xbox One won't eject discs anymore. Whenever I press the eject button it makes a disturbingly loud grinding noise. The disc is not damaged and I can eject it with the paper clip method. The disc can also be inserted with no problem, but ejecting it
    results in the same thing every time. To top it all off, the warranty for my Xbox expired a little less than a month ago. Does anyone else know of this problem? If so, do you have a fix for it? Thank you.

    Xbox One console (not power brick) making buzzing noise

    I have a similar problem. Whenever I put a disc in, it makes a loud grinding spinning noise, that I can best describe as sounding like a chainsaw. It won't read any discs or anything.

    Grinding Noise When EJECTING Disc

    Hi, I'm wondering if the grinding noise when I eject a disc is normal. I tried different discs (Blu Ray, DVD and games) but it's the same noise. I took a video of it, here is the link.



    It sound smooth when disc going in. Grinding noise happen only when disc coming out.

    you should of searched.. There's a hole on the left side you can insert a paper clip to force a eject. Search the support on xbox and not forums, it will tell you how to do it.

    You should have read. In the third sentence of my post I clearly stated that I have tried the paper clip method. Besides, this post isn't about getting the disc out, it's about finding a solution for the disc drive so it won't make the noise and I won't
    have to use the paper clip method.

    It's not recommended to move your console while the disc is in it. Oddly enough, I predict a "Ghosts jammed my Xbox, it's making crunching/grinding noises and won't eject" thread.

    Is it only doing it when you insert the disc or the whole time? How loud is it?

    If it’s worrisome or bothersome take it back and exchange it. It should be making any noise and especially a grinding noise.

    I don't know if it is the fan because mine makes the same loud noise after I shut it off but one time I tried ejecting the disc and the noise stopped. I don't think it is the fan I think it is the disc spinning.

    Depends what noise it is you are talking about.

    The Xbox One will make more noise while installing from a BluRay as it is spinning the disc at high speed to install the game.

    Once installed, the game runs from the HDD and the disc is used for security authentication at boot up. That is why it is quiet when playing games.

    So if the noise was a loud whirring, then that is normal during install. If it was anything else like grinding noise, that isn't normal.
