Xbox One wont connect wireless to BT hub 5

As the heading says for some reason my Xbox One wont connect via wireless to my BT hub 5? I can find my router and enter password but it just wont connect? YES the password is 100% correct. It can connect Wired though.

The XBox One does connect to a friends via wireless but they use a different ISP so what is the issue with wireless connection to my BT Home Hub 5?

I have done all the usual things such a reset router, turn router off for 10 mins, factory default the Xbox One settings but no joy?

The strange thing is it did connect for 30 minutes last night but then when i knocked it off and tried to play it the next day this all started!

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    :)

    Is XBox LIVE Fixed Yet?

well I rebooted the BT hub 5 and it worked for about 30 minutes wireless. It lost its connection and then when I went to set up a wireless connection, it couldn't even find the hub, then got the message that there was a problem with the wireless in the ONE.
Restarted again and it logged in first time.

It is so frustrating as it is not the same thing every time.

I did talk to support and they were not the best.

How do you change the channel for wifi ?

Xbox cant connect to BT Hub 5

    Hello Gearard McG and KPR99,

Please let me know if this information works for a resolution.

If you've got a BT Home Hub 4 or Hub 5, you may get an error message when trying to connect your Xbox. Here's how to fix it:

    1. If you have an older type Xbox, check that your wireless adapter is plugged in correctly (shown below left). If you have a newer type of Xbox (shown below right) then you have wireless built in as standard.

    2. After switching your Xbox on, you will see the main Xbox dashboard page

    3. Press up on your controller and scroll right until you get to "settings", then press down to the "System" icon and press A

    4. Highlight “Network Settings” and press A

    5. Scroll right until you highlight your hubs network name and press

    6. Enter your hubs wireless password and select “Done”

    7. The Xbox will then attempt to perform a network test. You may be warned that this will sign everyone out. Select “Yes” and the test will start

    8. The Xbox will then test your connection, once the Network Status shows as connected press Press B on your control pad to finish the set-up

Problems connecting your Xbox wirelessly to the BT Home Hub 4 or Hub 5

When trying to connect your Xbox to the BT Home Hub 4 or Hub 5 you may see this error:

"There is more than one network in range that has this SSID, please change your router SSID before proceeding"

Because the BT Home Hub 4 and Hub 5 are dual band, they broadcast two SSIDs with the same name. As the Xbox was released some years ago, it wasn't set up to deal with this type of dual band wireless connection.

To connect your Xbox wirelessly, you'll need to change one of the SSIDs first. Here's how:

    (bt.custhelp.com/.../L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xNDEwNjE4OTY2L3NpZC9GMUVtbmkybQ%3D%3D)

    1. Access the Hub Manager on your computer by typing api.home into the address bar of the internet browser, then click Advanced Settings

2.Next enter the Hub Manager admin password (found on the Hub settings card at the back of the Hub) and click OK

    3. Click Continue to Advanced Settings

    4. Click Wireless

    5. From here you can change the SSID name being broadcast. In this example here we've added 2.4GHz at the end of the name to easily identify this as the 2.4GHZ band. But you can change the name to anything you want. In the Wireless SSID section enter a new
    name and click Apply

    6. Click Yes for the changes to be applied

    7. Now you've changed the SSID, you'll need to reconnect any other wireless devices you've previously connected

You should now be able to connect your Xbox to your Hub 4 or Hub 5. Here are instructions if you need:
    bt.custhelp.com/.../11248

I hope you two and others who are also getting this problem get this resolved as quick as possible, please let me know you get on.

    Regards,

    Daniel
