Xbox One won't connect to wifi; says my password is incorrect

Hey everyone..

This issue has been happening for the past week and I have been doing a ton of reading on the forums to try and solve it myself, but I am having zero luck still.

I cannot connect to my wifi because it says the password is not right, even tho it is the correct password (my cpu and phone are on wifi).

I have done all the things people have requested for it to connect, but nothing has worked. Hard reset, reseting router, unplugging everything from the xbox, changing my network dhcp settings, nothing has been working. I am getting very very very frustrated
with this issue, can someone please help???

Also, I have been having *** mic issues for over half a year now too. I can't even talk to my little brother that just bought an xbox one so we could play and talk to each other because he lives numerous states away. Can't even hold a party chat with him.
I am honestly getting so fed up with you all (microsoft). I have had no issues since I have first bought the first gen xbox back in the day. Now it is all falling to pieces. Someone help.

Xbox Live Failure

My Wifi is fine, but my Xbox One won't connect to Xbox Live. I've restarted it 3 times now! And every time I enter the password, even though it's correct, it says it's incorrect.

try it wired to troubleshoot if your party chat issues go away ...some routers just don't play well with xbox one , wireless especially , list your modem and router (model numbers) and we can see if its on the "known issues" list...

I have see others fix the wifi password issue by changing the password in the router settings to something else and then "set up wireless network " again...

Are you able to give us the following information:

Make and model of your modem:

Make and model of your wireless router:

What Security method are you using: WEP/WPA/WPA2 (AES)?

Do you use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) on your wireless router?

Do you connect your Xbox One with wireless directly with your wireless router, or do connect an accesspoint or a repeater in between?

Make sure you are not picking up a stray wifi signal and trying to log in to it accidentally. Let us know. Good Luck!

Let’s try to isolate the problem a bit more, for this please try:

A. Power cycle your console (if you meant this when you said “rebooting my Xbox” skip this one)

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

B. Change your home network password and name and give it a new try

C. Connect your console to a completely different Wi-Fi network and try in that way
For this purpose you can share mobile data via Wi-Fi hotspot

1. Restart your Xbox and router: Turn off your Xbox and unplug your router from the power source. Wait for 30 seconds, then plug your router back in and turn on your Xbox.

2. Forget and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network: Go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Set up wireless network. Select your Wi-Fi network and choose Forget. Then, select your Wi-Fi network again and enter your password.

3. Clear the alternate MAC address: Go to Settings > Network > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address. Select Clear and restart your Xbox.

4. Update your Xbox firmware: Go to Settings > System > Updates & downloads > Updates > Check for updates. If an update is available, download and install it.
