Xbox One won't connect to TV

So I can leave it connected to the TV rather than the Xbox One and there won't be any difference in quality/performance?

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Xbox. I would recommend you take a look at the Troubleshooting
a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox One is on support page.

If the Your screen is blank after you turn on your console section does not help, you may be looking at a possible hardware issue and may need to consider requesting a repair via Device
Services.

Does other stuff work on that HDMI port on your TV? Also, be sure you got the cable in the HDMI out port on the Xbox as there is a port for input that wouldn't work for connecting to the TV
