Xbox one won't connect to tv.

I have had my xbox for about 11 months and have never changed the settings on either the xbox or my tv. I turned on the xbox recently and there was nothing on the tv. No picture or sound. The xbox home screen has flashed a couple of times but this is rare.
I have tried everything from different posts and trouble shooting as well as tried different HDMI cords and different inputs. I do not believe it is the tv. Has anyone had this happen to them? Is this something I must send in to get repaired? Thanks.

XBOX won't connect to tv

stopped working probably about Sept last year coz i got the Kinect in July and it was working for a while on the tele then one day just didn't show a picture when i switched cables. it's a pretty old console now tbh so i'm just going to keep using the leads
until the day that it eventually dies on me and i have to replace it

The first thing I would do is hold the Xbox logo on the front of your console for 10 seconds to make sure it is fully powered down and then unplug the power cord and HDMI cable from the console for 5 minutes. Also, make sure the HDMI cable is firmly seated
in your TV. If it's not, make sure the console is plugged directly into the wall, not a power strip.

If that doesn't work, turn the Xbox off and press the Xbox and eject button to boot into low resolution mode. If that works, you can reset your settings and should be good to go.

If not, try the console on a different TV to see if it's an issue with the TV or console. If it doesn't work on the other TV, you will most likely have to get the console repaired. You can get that started at

Personally, I would try a factory reset using a USB drive with the offline system update diagnostic tool (support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool)
just to make sure I covered all bases, but I don't know if that will actually help anything.

So I can leave it connected to the TV rather than the Xbox One and there won't be any difference in quality/performance?

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Xbox. I would recommend you take a look at the Troubleshooting
a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox One is on support page.

If the Your screen is blank after you turn on your console section does not help, you may be looking at a possible hardware issue and may need to consider requesting a repair via Device
Services.

Does other stuff work on that HDMI port on your TV? Also, be sure you got the cable in the HDMI out port on the Xbox as there is a port for input that wouldn't work for connecting to the TV
