Xbox One won't connect to t.v.

My Xbox One frequently will not make contact with my Phillips T.V. Most times I just replace the HDMI cord and it works but it's a constant problem. I've gone through 8 HDMI cords in the past year. Today I am using an HDMI cord I bought maybe 3 weeks ago
and it won't connect to the television. Does anybody else ever encounter this problem? It's getting annoying.

    :)

How to connect 1st Gen Xbox 360 to a new HDTV?

Use a scart cable for the old XBOX then use a composite converter to connect it to your T.V. if you need to. Your new T.V. should accept one of those old standards. Your T.V. should have a scart and composite dongle that will allow connectivity. It sounds
like you've already got a composite cable.

    DVD not showing

Cut down any extra connections so connect the XBOX directly to your T.V. if you haven't already.

    Black screen

Make sure that the display settings are set-up for your T.V.s resolution. Your T.V may also need to switch to another setting for HDMI connected devices. My t.v has to be set to Movie or my Netflix won't play through my Xbox it also just gives me a black
screen until I change the setting.

Best settings for a SDTV for Xbox

It depends on your T.V. but you won't suffer the same glare on a CRT T.V. that you would on LCD or LED so set your brightness high to make more of the game world you're playing in visible. It's all down to preference though and won't make much difference
if you're enjoying a game and can see what's going on. There are loads of variances on T.V's beyond what you mention.
