Error code 0x80bd0009. Xbox One S. Cannot select 7.1 or 5.1 uncompressed, only stereo.

Same hookup as previous xbox one, which handled it fine. Hdmi from xbox to samsung one connect (ks9000 series 4k hdr tv), and hdmi from one connect to Sony receiver (str-1030 model) using ARC.

Also, the Xbox tells me that my TV doesnt support 10 bit but it does.

Error when selecting the 4K UHD resolution on Xbox One S.

    Hello a7ime7raveller,

Thanks for taking the time to let us know about your situation. It's good to know that the problem is not the Xbox directly, but more of a compatibility issue. After the release of the PS4 Pro a saw and read a few articles about problems with 4K HDR working
on not only Sony's own TVs, but also with other manufactures 4K HDR TVs, see URLs below. It's my understanding that Sony has had to push out some firmware updates to get things straightened out. However, when it comes to the Xbox One S it seems that the real
threshold for 4K UHD support is
    HDR10
. But, of course it appears Sony dose not like to use that nomenclature. It's almost like they expected only PS4 to be connected to their TVs.... At this point, unless you can try some other third party 4K HDR device, it looks like you are going to
have to follow up with Sony.

I cannot seem to connect my xbox one to my sony dav-dz175..."

I suppose this is supposed to be a surround-sound speaker setup.

There are quick setup guides and a support page for your model, so I'd look here first:
    https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=DAVDZ175

As far as connecting it to the Xbox, this is how it usually goes:

    - If you have an optical cable, you can use that as a direct audio connection between the Xbox One and the Sony DAV receiver. Your Xbox One has an optical port for audio. You will need to set the output to "Optical" on your Sony
receiver whenever you want to output audio from your Xbox.

    - If you are just getting the sound from HDMI, you will need to plug the Sony DAV receiver to your TV (via RCA or other supported methods), adjust your TV's options so it's not using its built-in speakers anymore, and finally your
audio should pass through the Xbox, then the TV, then your Sony speakers.

Here is an Xbox support article detailing about setting up your console with a home theater system:

    Hope this helps!

Hdr washed out colors and dimmer during hdr content

Same issue here with my Sony XBR-65X850B. Xbox One S is connected directly to the TV, no AVR in between. Just to test it out, I bought a stand-alone UHD player Sony UBP-X800 and it works just fine. Please fix.
