Xbox One won't connect to internet until i run a network test

Hello,

My xbox one will only have this problem if it is coming off STANDBY mode after being in stand by for an hour or more.

If it is booting up from cold (completely off) it will connect just fine.

If it fails to connect, i go to network settings and click Network Test and it INSTANTLY connects.

How do i fix this? There was another thread with this same problem, but i think it was for the xbox 360 and the solution is no longer available on that thread.

I have tried manually settings the DNS, IP, MAC, nothing fixes the problem. My network speeds are over 70 Mbps. Have tried a factory restore. Tried changing the name of the xbox.

Please someone help me out.

I'm having the same issue. I was connecting fine with my modem and wireless router until yesterday. Now it picks up my network but can't connect to live. If I test my Xbox live connection....it connects to the network and Internet but not live. If I run
a static check it connects to the Internet. However if I do the Initial Setup....the Internet fails and says Blocked next to xbox live

 

had a similar problem a while ago turned out to be my isp that was having a problem check that there not having any problems or give them a call that worked for me

If you haven't already, could you switch to
energy-saving mode (if current is set to Instant-on power mode).

Navigate your way into Xbox network settings. Select Advanced settings and Alternate MAC address. Select Clear, to refresh the relationship with your console and the DHCP server.

Power cycle your console and run the network diagnostic tests.

so, i have tried this method and clearing the MAC address, however if i switch back to INSTANT ON mode, the problem comes back of course.

 

Appreciate if you can provide the make and model of your router and modem (if this is not a single device).

Can you also specify whether your Xbox One is speaking directly with your router/NAT, or if you use a device in between this route (computer (ICS), Access Point, Power adapter)).

I think i understand the problem.

Even if i do not have any devices between my xbox and the internet source ( ethernet wall jack) it still has this problem. My apartment has an internet management system of their which I have no control over. I am led to believe that they have some kind
of setting which deactivates the IP address the xbox has used, which leads to the network test to reacquire an IP, but from a fully off state, the xbox will search for a new IP no matter what, which is by it bypasses this problem.

Microsoft should patch this issue, so that the xbox will reacquire the network upon turning on from stand by.
