  1. Xbox One won't connect to hdmi and stay on

My Mom recently bought my siblings a new refurbished Xbox one that was guaranteed and only had two days refund. (Its been more than 2 days). We had this problem at first, where it would turn on, the power box would turn on, but it says "no signal" and then it powers off. After we tried different hdmi inputs and unplugged every cord and let it set for a while, it worked again. Now, a couple days later, it wont work. Ive tried reading other support pages, youtube videos, leaving it unplugged for hours, switching hdmi inputs, and even switching the cord around. Its connected to the right hdmi, (to tv), and like I said before, the xbox turns on for a bit, but theres no signal, and I have been trying to bind this controller to it, and the controller light flashes but the xbox light doesn't, then it turns off again. Any tips?

    :)

Xbox One won't connect to hdmi and stay on

Hello moto moto, I hope everything is going well!

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support!

    Please check the following points:

    • Confirm that both your TV and console are turned on
    • Check that your TV is set to the correct input signal (HDMI)
    • Check that the HDMI cable connections to your console and to your TV are secure
    • Check that the HDMI cable is connected to the "out to TV" port on the console
    • Try plugging the HDMI cable into a different HDMI port on your TV
    • Try using a different HDMI cable to connect your console to your TV
    • Try connecting your console to a different TV
    • Power cycle your console: Press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to turn off the console, and then turn it on again

If the issue persists, try resetting your display settings

    1. If there's a disc in the console, eject it.
    2. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to turn off the console.
    3. Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Don’t let go until you hear the second beep or see the console start up in low resolution mode (the Xbox startup screen will appear slightly pixelated).
      • Note If you have an Xbox Series S or Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, you’ll need to press and hold the Xbox button and the Pair button instead, as your console does not have an Eject button.
    4. In either case, this will start up your console in low resolution mode (640 × 480). To change this setting, press the Xbox button to open the guide. Go to Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options, and then select the resolution you want from the Display dropdown.
    5. If you’re required to complete these steps on every startup, you’ll want to change your TV connection to HDMI as shown in step 3 of the next section, "Your screen is blank and you use an AVR in your setup." For more info, see How to adjust the display settings on your Xbox.

I wish you a lovely day, and I hope this helps you out!

    Kind Regards

    Stay safe, and happy gaming!

Same here. It will connect but it won't stay connected for very long. I have an Xbox One X but I'm sure the controller is the same.

Using Coaxial to HDMI converter to connect TV to Xbox One?

If you're still interested, I purchased an RCA to HDMI converter because my cable box doesn't have an HDMI output. It's powered by USB. You connect the composite cable and audio o the converter and then it outputs either a 720 or 1080p signal (you select
it with a small switch). I plugged it to my tv and I can see an image. I plug it into the xbox one and it does sense a signal coming from the cable but the screen stays black and no audio whatsoever. I tested the xbox one input with my apple tv and it works
fine, it passes through the signal. I also have an HDMI switch hub (to connect several devices using a single hdmi port). Works fine with the TV. It also doesn't work with the xbox one. So I'm guessing the xbox one tries to get some kind of legit signal from
the set top box you're connecting it to, and it won't work with generic hardware (like hubs and converters).
