    Xbox One Won't Boot Up

While updating my Xbox One, it started taking a while and told me that it ran into a problem, so I restarted it. It took a while, like an hour until the Xbox green loading screen even came up, and when it did it stayed on that screen for a few hours before
telling me it couldn't boot. I went ahead and followed the steps for the system updates solution but that didn't help at all. I tried resetting to factory
defaults, but that doesn't help. I called support and they told me it would be 150 dollars to fix, but at that point it would be silly to not just buy a new one, but it just feels wrong putting money into a system that barely lasted me two years (it's two
months outside of warranty). I have fixed Xbox 360's myself back when Red Ring's where no longer covered, I've also fixed PS2's and PS3's. So I'm more than okay with cracking this device open to fix it myself if it's a hardware issue. So, what are my options
    to fix this system?

Edit: Forgot to mention the error and the OS Version:

    System Error: E102 10020C02 8007045D

    OS Version: 14393.1065.amd64fre.rs1_xbox_rel_1608.160927-1900

    :)

    Xbox won't boot up

I'll try to be as detailed as possible. I've gone through all the basic troubleshooting steps and haven't had any luck. Hopefully someone here will have some advice.

I have an original Xbox One that stopped working all of a sudden. When I turn it on my TV gives me a "No Signal" message. I initially thought the HDMI cable, or even the port on the Xbox had gone bad. I tried different cables and different TVs. I eventually
discovered that if I just left the Xbox on, after about three minutes the "No Signal" message would go away and the screen would just be black. After five minutes of black screen it finally goes to the green
    Xbox screen
and shows the loading animation. I've tried leaving it on that screen for over an hour, but it doesn't get past it.

I've gone through the troubleshooting flows on the Xbox Support page. I've tried factory resetting it with a flash drive. The steps say to hold the Bind and Eject Disc button while powering the console on, and that the Xbox should make two beeping sounds
and then go to the reset screen. I can only get it to beep once, and the boot process continues like I described above, eventually reaching the green screen.

This doesn't seem like the typical black screen of death that I've read about. My understanding is that typically comes after the green screen. It seems more like my issue is that the Xbox is taking too long to boot up. I'm not exaggerating when I say it
takes about 8 minutes to reach the green screen. It's almost like it's not registering my input while I hold the buttons down to try and reset it.

Am I doing something wrong? I'd really like to get this fixed without having to send it in for repairs.

Try a power cycle on your xbox.

Unplug it from the wall and let everything sit for about 5 minutes. Then plug it back in and try to turn it on again.

Make sure to reseat the HDMI cable on the HDMI OUT port on the back of the Xbox and you might try another HDMI port on your TV.

There are these steps here to try - Troubleshooting a Blank Screen TV or Monitor While Your Xbox One is on

    1. If there's a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.
    2. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for five seconds to turn off the console.
    3. Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You will hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. DO NOT LET GO until
      the second beep occurs.
Note This will boot your console in low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset this setting, go to
System > Settings in the guide, select Display & sounds, Video options, and then
      TV Resolution.

    Xbox won't boot up

I did this already, four separate times now, and it still does exactly the same thing.

It comes on, brings up the green Xbox screen which idles for several long minutes, and then goes directly to a black screen and continues to do nothing.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    Hello Tempus,

Thanks for posting here on the Xbox forums. In this scenario, a soft factory reset usually does the trick. Please first attempt the power cycle steps provided by parity above. If the issue persists, try this out :

    1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
    3. Press and hold the BIND button (located below the Xbox button on the console Xbox one S and X), and then press the
      Xbox button on the console.
    4. Continue holding the BIND button for 10-15 seconds.
    5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
BIND button after the second power-up tone.
    6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

From this screen, select reset console (Reset and keep my games and apps). Please note that you will have to redownload your account after this step. Make sure that you know the email/password for any accounts you use.
