XBOX ONE won't boot up fully...

When hooking up my XBOX ONE (adding in HDMI, power supply plugged into the wall), turn it on, it loads the green XBOX ONE splash screen for about 15 seconds, and then it goes to a black screen… and sits there.. and sits there… and sits there. 20 mins later,
    still black screen.

Turn on the controller and hit the guide (XBOX ONE button) and nothing responds. Still black screen.

So then I turn off the console from the front of the machine and it powers off. and when I turn it back on… BOOM. I'm brought to the dashboard INSTANTLY.

This only happens when I have to pack away my XBOX ONE and move it to a new location -- also did this when I purchased it.

Why won't this boot up normally? Why do I need to shut it down a second time in order to use any functionality with the XBOX ONE.

P.S. - I'm also in the preview program too.

I've checked out other posts -- people with the same issues, but no resolutions -- more like, this is a faulty console.

    :)

    Xbox won't fully boot

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

"1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. "

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Make sure to follow the steps accordingly to access it:

"1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

    2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

    3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

    4. Press and hold the Pair button and the Eject button, and then press the Xbox button on the console.

    5. Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

    6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone."

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Please click on "Reset this Xbox" then "Reset and keep my games and apps".

    Dashboard not booting up fully

Fits: great, tried it last night, brill and quicker to do than the start button reboot.

marknally: yeah its on quick start up mode so I can shout at it from the kitchen while getting a beer.

I'll try the energy saving mode for a few days bud, see how it go's.

    Dashboard not booting up fully

Mine does this on a regular basis too mate, the reset always works but it's mighty irritating. I'm with Sky too btw. Out of interest do you have the console in "lazy mode" like me where you tell it xbox on or do you power it down in energy saving mode? I
have a feeling it may be this somehow causing it.
