Xbox One Won't Boot and Can't Access the Troubleshooting Screen

    Short Version:

The bind+eject method of accessing the startup troubleshooting screen does nothing so I can't factory reset my Xbox meaning every time I turn it does nothing for 10 minutes then freezes on the green startup screen for eternity.

    Long Version:

I've been troubleshooting my Xbox One the last couple days. At first I got stuck on the startup screen. I just tried power cycling the console. After that I couldn't even access the startup screen, it was just black. Then after a
few more attempts it went from being black to not outputting any signal at all. Everything I read told me to access the troubleshooting screen to do an offline update or factory reset. It all said to hold down the bind and eject buttons, then press the on
button while still holding the other 2 buttons, after 10-15 seconds I'd hear a second startup beep. I never heard the beep. I've attempted this (and the one where you just hold the eject and power buttons) at least 50 times and it never responds any differently.

After a while I read that if you leave the Xbox on the blank screen for 10 minutes it can go to the startup screen again and run properly. I tried this and instead of going to the startup screen it gave me an error message (E105). It then went to the troubleshooting
screen. I attempted an offline update several times and got a different error message (E101). I figured at this point I'd try restarting one more time as I really don't want to lose any save data by reseting to factory defaults. I assumed this would either
work or continue to give me an error message and then take me to the troubleshooting screen but instead it now takes me to the startup screen every time and just freezes. I want to reset the Xbox to factory settings but I can't access the troubleshooting screen
to do it. Again, I've tried at least 50 times to do the bind+eject startup and nothing is happening. I'm completely out of ideas as literally the only thing I can get the Xbox to do is freeze on the startup screen, I'm never given any option to do anything
    else.

    :)

    Can't Access to Troubleshoot screen

Thank you so much for the reply, Jose, very much appreciated! I did contact Xbox technical support and they recommended to manually Offline System Update file OSU1. unfortunately I can't access / get into the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

    1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
    3. Press and hold the Pair button (located below the Xbox button on the console) and the Eject button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button  on the console.

Note The Xbox Series S and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition do not have Eject buttons. You can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter on this console by holding only the Pair button (steps 3 and 4) and then pressing the Xbox button .
    4. Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone.
    6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.
I following these instructions and step by step and no luck for directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter

    Can't Access to Troubleshoot screen

Hello J C, my name is Jose, and I would be happy to help.

I'm sorry for what you're going through, undoubtedly something unpleasant. I'm also a gamer and consumer of content, in addition to being a player, so there might be an issue with the method you're using to access the troubleshooting screen. Here are some alternative suggestions you could try:

    Power On and Off Method:
Try completely turning off the Xbox One. After turning it off, wait a few seconds and then turn it back on. Sometimes, this method can directly lead to the troubleshooting screen.

    Power Reset:
Disconnect the power cable from the back of the console and wait at least 10 seconds, or preferably 1 minute, before reconnecting it. Then, turn on the Xbox One. This process may force a complete restart and allow access to the troubleshooting screen.

    Xbox Controller:
Try connecting an Xbox controller to the console using a USB cable. Then, press and hold the Xbox button on the controller to turn on the console. Sometimes, this can help access troubleshooting options.

If none of these methods work, it may be necessary to contact Xbox technical support for specific assistance with your situation.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.

    Best regards,
    Jose.
