    Xbox One won't allow me to connect to wifi because it says that it is connected with a cable


    I do not have anything other than my HDMI cable and the power cord plugged into my Xbox One, yet, it is telling me I cannot connect to the wifi because it thinks that it has a cable plugged in. And when I hit test connection, it tells me that I have a hardware
    issue and have to send it in for repair. No error codes at all. I read on a reddit forum (first thing that popped up when googling the problem) that other people have had this issue, and that they just hard reset it and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and
    it fixed itself. I tried this, as well as unplugging both power and HDMI cords and leaving it sit for over 30 minutes. Still the same issue. Any suggestions? Or any idea what it would cost to repair?

    Can't identify ethernet from pc to xbox 360

    I wanted to connect my xbox 360 to my pc to get internet access and be able to connect to xbox live. My pc is connect with wifi to my router. I put my wifi adapter settings to allow sharing. So i connected my pc to my xbox with ethernet cable but when i
    test xbox live connection it says network failed. Also on my pc it cant identify the ethernet connection. It says unidentified network and its showed in public network with no internet access.

    Is my Xbox One defective?

    I think my Xbox one is defective also because it won't let me connect to xbox live and it says my WiFi is good and it won't let me play games online at all. My Xbox One if defected!!

    If it is telling you you have a hardware problem then you have hardware problem. You will have to send it to the repair centre to get it looked at. Is your console under warrenty still? Make sure to register your console here, Register (or Unregister) Your Xbox | Xbox Product Registration.
    Then click on request repair and follow the steps.

    Is your xbox connected through and ethernet cable or is it connected through wifi because if its wifi then you might need to check the security settings to of your wifi router and that is what might not be allowing it to connect to the internet and if so
    try using an ethernet cable for a more stable and sure connection.

    If you want to use WiFi to connect to your network hardware you must disconnect the ethernet cable from the console. It's one or the other not both.

    Wired ethernet is superior to WiFi.
