    Xbox One won't accept password... Keyboard issues?


    I can't sign in to my accounts on Xbox One after I updated it.

    When I enter my password, nothing seems to happen so I tried it many times using the controller and a keyboard and still nothing... I tried hitting "I've forgotten my password" and entered the characters and nothing. Updated the controller via PC as Xbox
    requires signing in to update the controller and still nothing! I can sign in to my account on PC so why can't I sign in on Xbox? I also tried adding new account but just get told I have an account on the Xbox.

    The support pages are useless and no one to ask from Microsoft. Thanks Microsoft!

    XBOX One does not accept password for Microsoft account

    We bought the NBA 2K17 Basketball game for XBOX one. It said we needed to download an update, which we did. Then the game installed. Now whenever we try to load that game or any other previously loaded game, the XBOX asks for the Microsoft password. It would
    not accept the password, so I changed it online, and it still won't accept it. I also tried changing the password through the XBOX, but it won't accept the security code letters/numbers. Please help - we can't play any games now!

    Stopped connecting to my wireless network

    Last night while playing Destiny my Xbox One (purchased 2 weeks ago) disconnected from my wireless network, and I can't get it to reconnect. The console wants me to select the network and enter my wireless password (which I've done several times), but
    it won't accept the wifi password. I power cycled my router and AirPort Extreme. I power cycled the Xbox. I opened my wifi settings and re-setup my password. The Xbox still won't accept the password and connect. None of the other wireless devices in my house
    are having problems connecting (or staying connected) to the network. Help.

    Hey there Gileryn!

    I could totally see how not being able to connect to your network could be frustrating.

    If the steps you tried initially didn't work, then I would highly recommend seeing if changing your wifi password (as suggested by @EggsBoxJuan)does or perhaps connecting the console directly to the modem with a hard wire.

    When you get a chance, give those things a try and let us know if that helped.

    Hi there,

    I'm not sure it applies to WiFi passwords, but for account passwords the password may not be longer then 16 (or 12?) characters.

    If your wifi password is longer then please try a shorter version to see if that helps.

    there was a space at the end of my password, and changing it to not include the space finally solved it

    Lol, I was wrong! However it doesn't change, with type AES I have always had problems, in PSK everything works normally ;)

    Do you have any special characters in your WiFi password? Like Umlauts (ÄÖÜ), or letters with accents (áèí) or the likes (ñç)?
