Xbox one won't accept or read discs

This has been a problem that's been affenting me for months now. My disc drive wont accept disc and when I do manage to force it to, it'll make a few clunkimg sounds and wont read the disc. It has no issue ejecting discs but when it does they come out covered
in this sticky residue. So I've come to the conclusion that the disc drive is just full of this substance and was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar to this and if anyone knows how to solve the issue.

Brand new xbox and it won't accept or eject discs...

I have a brand soankinnnew xbox one and it won't accept or eject discs! It's a brand new machine and I just bought a new game and now my nhl 2015 is stuck in it! Wouldn't mind so much if it was stuck far enough in that it would read the disc

How long have you had your Xbox One for? If it's still under warranty, then I suggest getting in contact with Xbox Customer Support to arrange a repair.

Sounds to me like one of two things has happened:

1: You have a son/daughter that managed to put something sticky on the drive (possibly jam or something)

2: You have a second hand console and the same thing happened to it with its previous owner.

Best bet would be to contact customer support, don't mention the "sticky substance" and get it repaired by them (costs about £100) they wont actually repair it, all they'll do is send you another as soon as they receive yours.

Not sure they will repair now since it was opened. IF under warranty then I suggest to go through support then warranty and file a claim to see what happens. If not under warranty see if you have the option to buy a new warranty. If no to those 2 then
you would have to repair on own or buy a new one.

Opening it up was a bad mistake but have you try to reopen it and see if these something blocking the dive If not most computer store should be able to fix the issue.... to me sounds like the disc drive isn't sitting correctly or a loose connection

Ricorda che aprire la tua console e anche richiuderla correttamente necessita di molta attenzione.Se la tua xbox prima funzionava e anche il lettore cd,é possibile che tu abbia rimontato male un componente hardware o richiuso male la scocca della tua console.Io
proverei a riaprire la console e verificare che tutto sia rimontato correttamente!

I know its stupid qestion but are you sure you put out disc before opened xbox ? There might be just stuck disc but im afraid thats my only advise

I have never opened it before but I was getting significant lag in most games so I had to get it open to clean the dust out. There was so much in there I didn't have a choice. Really regretting that decision now. Is there a way to get an external
disc drive working? Or what can I do next?

As far as I know, and through some research, there is no way to use an external disc drive to play games on the Xbox One
