Xbox one won't accept disk

Heya,

I am experiencing a similar problem.. however mine seems to be xbox 360 type disks that are not accepted since update ...

Played BO2 this morning (around 7 hours ago from time of posting) and had no issues..

Once i exited out of BO2 the xbox update message came up so i updated now it wont accepted these disks..

Starts to spin up then stops.. xbox one disks are fine for the two i tested.

Really hope this gets fixed soon.

The Xbox One technology is awesome but I won't buy any console that needs an internet connection. It is a huge privacy risk to have a console with a camera that connects to the internet. A console that connects to the internet once per day or once per
week has the same privacy risk as a console with an always-on connection.

Gamers should boycott Xbox One so the console manufacturers get the message that we won't accept a required internet connection. If a physical disk is inserted in the console, no internet connection should be needed to prevent piracy. The console manufacturers
just have to develop a proprietary disk format that can't be copied by Windows, Mac or Linux. It would be fine if gamers who don't want to put a physical disk in the console to prove they own the game are required to have an internet connection. That way,
if a gamer wants to prevent game companies from spying on them, they would just swap disks when switching games. If a gamer uses LIVE or they want the convenience of not needing to swap disks, they would provide an internet connection.

I have the same problem since the last xbox one update. DVD movie and Xbox 360 disks won't work, only bluray disk. I can't install new retrocompatibility games or play with current installed games with disk. Maybe, something wrong with an update.

The xbox one will still play disk based games without the update. It just won't do much else.

Not sure they will repair now since it was opened. IF under warranty then I suggest to go through support then warranty and file a claim to see what happens. If not under warranty see if you have the option to buy a new warranty. If no to those 2 then
you would have to repair on own or buy a new one.
