Xbox one & WMC

I was using my 360 as an extender, but now I have my Xbox One directed to my PC. With my 360 I could turn channels with my voice or go into the One Guide. But now, when I use my voice, the channels don't change. Oddly, after I use my voice, when I go into
the One guide, the channel that I spoke is highlighted so the Xbox One responded. It just didn't change my channels. Also, if I go into the One Guide and click on a channel it won't change either. Basically, the only way I can change channels is through the
WMC (remote and keyboard). But the main reason I got the kinect is to change channels while in snap mode. Any suggestions? Thanks.

:)

2. Can I Use The Xbox One HDMI Pass Through To Run My 360 Media Center Extender???

I have used WMC; didn't really care for it, so I admit, I am biased. Still, I don't see the foundation for your comlaints - if you want to use WMC, then there's nothing stopping you from keeping your Xbox 360 & doing just that.

Owning two xboxes and having one gold membership is it possible ?

Stream content from one XBOX to another [Via inbuilt 360 Slim WiFi adapter] & use Windows Media Center... That's the whole purpose of WMC... Or just stream it to the TV in the loungeroom etc..

Try holding the power button for 10 seconds until the console shuts down. That should fix the voice issues with the Kinect.

Thanks, but, unfortunately, that didn't work. The kinect responds when I do snaps, use apps, turn the volume up, etc. It is only with turning channels. Also, as I said, I can't select a channel from the one guide. So, even though I can watch TV, there must
be something missing in the cable box setup (the setup being from a PC using WMC). I just don't understand why it worked using a 360 extender and the setup that I have now won't work. I know it's possible since others have done it as well.

Has anyone found a fix or workaround for this? I have the same issues as shown in the videos from I Drift 2. I can successfully use the Xbox/Kinect to channel up or down. I believe the problems has something to do with the codes being sent to the PC. My
IR receiver lights up when it receives a signal. When I use oneguide to switch to a channel, it lights up 3 times. What ever these codes are, they are causing the exact same problems a I Drift 2. As a way of testing, I used a laptop with a fresh, fully updated
install of windows 7. Exact issues occur on the laptop. I am receiving OTA via hdhomerun in Denver.

I read in a different thread that selecting a cable provider instead of OTA (even though I am OTA) can work. I tried this, and it did work for me. Within Media center, I had to edit some channel numbers and point them to a different number. I also had to
edit the channels so the numbers did not have a decimal (e.g. 9.0 instead of 9.1), but everything seems to work as it's supposed to. So I believe there is a problem with how the Xbox One handles Antenna as the provider and "Microsoft/Media Center' as the cable
box/model.

TXRhody,

Even though I am using an OTA antenna with WMC, I selected a cable provider that had my local channels mapped to the correct station number. OneGuide has been working perfectly since. Here's what I've learned:

1. The XB1/OneGuide really have no idea what is playing through the HDMI-in port. All the OneGuide does is send IR commands. I am not sure what commands are being sent when set to OTA, but it freaks out my HTPC for a few seconds. When set to cable, it just
sends the channel numbers.

2. In WMC, you need to edit the channels. For example if your local NBC is channel 9.1, you need to edit the channel so it's 9.0. You can actual remap the numbers to something entirely different, for example you might have a local channel on 59.1, but in
the OneGuide it's listed as channel 39. No problem, simply edit the channel in WMC from 59.1 to 39.

I wish we didn't have to find this workaround, but at least you can get up and running until this is fixed.

Microsoft, please release an Atsc version of your OTA tuner.

Thank you, sixsevenco. That worked great. I now have OneGuide with all of my HD channels. I'm missing the SD channels, like LiveWell, AntennaTV, This, Bounce, Grit, etc. I can live with that, because I never watched those channels anyway. Hopefully, the
Xbox team can fix the Antenna OneGuide or allow us to create our own, but at least there's a solution in the meantime.

14. I'm trying to set up 360 as extender. I chose XBox360UniversalMediaRemote and while it sends channel numbers, the power toggle does not work. Should I pick a difference device designation?

To the OP, when you were successfully changing channels via voice, was this with x.y channels or with a workaround to integer channels?

Xbox One as Media Center Extender
I am incredibly disappointed that the Xbox One isn't a WMC Extender.
Given the excessive limitations of WMC Extender, I'm not seeing this as a problem.

Things like Intel's NUC and other sub-mini ITX systems will allow one to roll out a full blown WMC device without having to deal with the "extender" aspect. That gives one access to everything, not just a subset of WMC features.

Ok i think i manage to connect my PC with the XBOX 360 WMC, but when i try to upload a video from my PC to XBOX 360 WMC i have the following message "Some files which are necesarry for the video are not installed or not worked properly. Restart WMC or your
computer". Im not sure what this is.

One other thing though. What about Online media section. I still can't see Online media section on my XBOX 360 WMC. Is there anything else i should do?
