    If I understand your question correctly it sounds as though you want to take your console apart. If this is the case then we cannot help as console modification discussions are not allowed on the forums.

    It was not my intention to break the rules of this forum. I'll rephrase my question.

    If the WIFI board for some reason becomes completely fried (or the chips on it just stop working), will the Xbox One still function if controllers are connected using Charge and Play, and an Ethernet cable is connected for Internet access?

    Yes, it should work if you cannot connect via wifi.

    Cant play games when i am offline - even games on disc

    Yes on xbox one you have to be online permanently. Without Wifi you can not use it!

    It has been my experience that most games need a large update on day one. Not sure you will need those updates to play offline but definitely something to consider.
