I wouldn't purchase a disc-less xbox one, because I would rather have physical media over digital anytime, but I would like to have that White Xbox one. I am holding off on picking one up right now, because I can still play most of the games on xbox 360
or ps3 right now, and I also have a Wii U backlog right now.

What I don't understand is why so many people after hearing these rumors treat the situation as though MS is burying the blu ray model XB1. If the rumors are true they are only adding another option, not replacing the original design entirely. Everyone who
wants their disc are still fully capable of going that route.

Indeed Lofty, I don't think it's anywhere near outright impossible. I think disc driveless Xbox One is in fact very likely at some point, however 100 dollars off the price for no disc drive? No frigging way

I welcome the original xb1 plans with open arms,full DDs,but they changed it,a massive change,which I find it hard to believe in the 1st year they would roll bk on themselves.

And the in the bigger picture ISPs are not providing the quality internet for ALL for fully online for it to be a massive success.Im hoping the demand of next gen, is gonna change this for the good for everybody.

It would hardly be about rolling back or even about "ISPs not providing quality internet for ALL", it would be a hardware revision and sold alongside the base model. I know people who would like an X1 with no disc drive but 1TB HDD instead. It wouldn't replace
the current model, it would offer an alternative for it

It's not an "all in one" entertainment system without a Blu-ray drive which can also play DVD's. Plus have you seen the size of Xbox 1 games how many GB's they are? Many households have an internet data limit plan per month or who are on ADSL Broadband speeds.
And those who want to have the physical copy of games so that they can sell them or use the games at a friends place. So what if I've paid $100 more for a system with this ability. Its similar to how peps may want an Xbox 1 without Kinect and they want to
pay $100 less. There's a reason why M included a disc drive for Xbox 1 at launch. It's possible in the future there may be a disk-less version of the console since there are those who see a digital-only future. What peps and companies need to understand is
that there are both pros and cons to digital AND disc versions. Don't believe rumours only things officially announced by M.

Forgot to add that I personally wouldn't get something like this as I enjoy disc based games too as well as movies. I do totally understand that many people would be fine with a driveless One that had like 1TB HDD at least, just not my thing really.

But like Dufful always say, I dont know if MS even pays 20 dollars per disc drive when bought in bulk, so a 100$ discount is very unlikely. I think it would be likelier to have bigger HDD, no disc drive but same price.
