Xbox One with Mircosoft Stereo Headphones Unable to Chat

I am currently unable to chat with other Xbox users in game or in party chat. I have gone through the following trouble shooting routines. My headset is an Microsoft xbox headset with mic

1. Replaced batteries in Xbox controller

2. Ensure the xbox is running the latest update

3. Ensure the controller is running the latest firmware

4. Validate all settings as either Everyone or All in my user profile

5. Power cycled the xbox console.

6. Controller is not muted and volume is enabled

7. Tried a different headset (Bose quiet comfort headset).

8. I've used the Microsoft headset to make a Facetime call which worked.

I have tried the chat option for support

I have sat waiting for 1 hour in a queue for support (no answer and no indication of when my call would be answered)

When i enter a party chat and speak the ring around my user profile used to light up when i spoke, this doesn't happen any more.

I have also tried the skype test call which doesn't work either.

Please help.

will produce sound from the xbox one controller to the xbox one stereo adapter which the headphones will allow you to plug the XBox Headphones in and hear sound and chat with the mic.

watch the video in the link above. At the end it shows the adapter, and the cord on the headphones that you would plug in.

A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too

I'm sorry to hear this is currently happening. I have a good idea of all the process you have done so far in regards to this issue. After reading the information you provided it helped narrow down on what we can do in regards to this issue.
Now just for clarification, what happens when you are in a party chat? Does it say that it can't find a mic, or does it show a mic with a slash crossing it? Are you able to hear others? Also, by any chance have you used any other controller with
your Xbox ?

I know you've mentioned to have tried the headset on facetime call and it worked fine. If you are able to we recommend to attempt a different controller to see how it goes.

Also, if even with a different controller the issue persists then what we suggest is (if it hasn't already been done) a reset of the console
since the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a
Soft Factory Reset(while keeping games and apps)
Before resetting your console make sure of the following:

• There is a stable network connection.
  
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)
  
  
  

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup let's do
manual setup.
