Xbox one with Kinect.

Hi all,

Does the kinect have a impact on how well your games play on the xbox one? I would like to get the bundle with the kinect but if having the kinect slows down the performance when playing games i will just buy the bundle without the kinect.

Any information with be helpful.

upgraded to Xbox One S from Xbox 360 with Kinect. Can the Kinect be used with he Xbox One S?

 

this has beaten to death... it does NOTHING to enhance or detract from the gameplay.... by not having the kinect... does NOT make your games play better

I was really wanting the kinect so i could try out the xbox fitness but didnt want to have the performance decrease when i play games.

 

there will be no decrease.. and to be honest... having the kinect makes the console feel stronger (not power or spec wise)... especially with the UI and voice commands...

 

Xbox Fitness requires a good amount of room to work properly, i have a small living room and have about 7ft of floor space between my TV and couch, and that was just enough to do most of the exercises, some would not register my movements because i ended
up too close to the Kinect or not far enough back when doing floor exercises. just something to think about.

 

Hmm that could be a problem my room doesn't have much space..

What happens if it stops registering your movements? Will the program stop working?

I find the kinect helps game play by allowing voice controls (such as 'xbox record that' 'xbox unsnap' 'xbox goto friends'), you can do this now from the controller but the voice commands I think still work better. Some games even auto pause if somebody
moves in front of it or it cant see you.

 

no, the workout continues(at least the ones i was doing), but if the Kinect picks you up and you are able to keep up with with the trainers, then you build up a multiplier and earn points, so if the Kinect doesn't pick up your movements, then the program
continues and you stop earning points, so you'll have a lower rating and whatever.

Kinect fitness is also not going to be free in the new year. If you not in the little area on the screen it will let you play but it doesn't track the score properly.

However I would recommend it.

 

Have they actually said it won't be free anymore in 2015? I know initially they said it would be free the first year, but I haven't heard anything about that changing, and technically 1 year was up last month.

I respect the Kinect (not bash it) but I personally don't see any point to owning one at all.

With that being said, the Kinectic isn't being utilized enough for gaming purposes as at the moment it is just an extra tool for navigating the Xbox One.

Games like Alien Isolation and Dead Rising 3 have added the additional function of attracting enemies to your presence if you make any noise (which is a really nice touch).
