XBox One - Wireless - Netflix Issues

Alright, i've scoured the internet trying to find an answer to this, and I cannot seem to find one anywhere. I've done everything I can think of.

Let me start off by saying that I have comcast 100MBit internet, and I am connected to a linksys wireless router. Now, for the issue I am having.

Every night, between the times of 9PM EST and about 12 AM EST, I cannot get netflix to work on my xbox one. The quality on all the video is horrible, and about every 2 minutes I have to rebuffer. It seriously took my wife 3 hours to watch an hour and 15
minute movie tonight while it was happening.

I can verify 100% its not my internet connection, as while she was watching her movie and it started doing it, I jumped on my PC and watched a full TV episode with no problems at all, in super-hd quality, and also did the same from my phone (Both wirelessly).
The issue is definitely with xbox one and the netflix app.

When it's not during the times listed above, I can watch netflix from the XBox one all day long, with no issues, in super hd. For some reason beyond me, during 9PM EST and 12AM EST ONLY, my xbox is unusable for streaming netflix.

I could understand it being during peak streaming hours, but that should affect it all the way across the board, not just on the xbox. Does Netflix go through the xbox live service ? I am wondering if the mixture of xbox live service and netflix service
during peak viewing/playing hours is causing a bottleneck on the entire system, which would explain why it only happens on the xbox one, and only during peak viewing/gaming times.

    :)

XBOX ONE NETFLIX AND XBOX VIDEO CRASH FIX

I've posted before about my experience about the xbox one Netflix App and Xbox video app crashing when I was wirelessly streaming movies using my router. Using the workaround via hardwire instead of using wifi to fix the issue temporarily. I recently decided to look into my router to figure out if it was the issue. After a looking at the default settings on my router via the router address. Mine was http://192.168.0.1 for my router, there is an option called WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) functionality option. It allows the router to prioritize incoming transmissions to prevent any lag or latency depending on the demand. I unchecked this option and there has been no problems since with the wireless xbox one experience via Netflix or Xbox video apps. Hope this helps!!

2 Xboxes, Netflix, strict nat question.

I am running a Comcast Gateway. One Xbox One is hooked up via wireless (it barely goes on Xbox live to play games/voice chat it just usually streams Hulu, Netflix, etc), the other ethernet, with a DMZ. Whenever the wireless Xbox uses Netflix, the Xbox on
the ethernet nat goes strict. Any suggestions or help from the wired Xbox not going strict?

Kind of already have a thread(s) going on this issue. Mine does the same during peak hours. I was also wondering if the request goes through the MS Live servers as well since as you point out it happens during peak hours. I'm not sure if there is anyway
to tell. Obviously you can't use Netflix when Live is down, so "maybe" it's being routed that way. Sure would explain a lot.

At this point, I'm using my PS4 for Netflix.

  5. ive been having the same problem and now im getting bad video quality throughout the day as well. Im thinking it has to be a problem with the Xbox one app because Netflix plays great when I log on with my 360. maybe try uninstalling the app and reinstall
