Xbox One wireless internet connection problem with Netgear router

About one week ago my Xbox One stopped "talking" to my wireless router. It will not work even if wired to the router. It did work when I used a mobile hotspot on my phone. There have been no changes to my setup. No new devices added. No other devices
having issues with internet connection. The Xbox recognizes the router and the router recognizes the Xbox. Wireless signal is strong. There is no interference. I have gone through extensive troubleshooting with Microsoft support and they don't think it
is an Xbox problem. Contacted my ISP, Comcast, and they said to contact Netgear. Netgear wants $90.00 to even talk to me. So, I am hoping someone on this forum has been through this and can help me figure it out without me spending $90.00. I also posted
on Netgear forum but no responses so far.

Does this only happen when two Xboxes are being used, is it ok when just one is connected?

If so its likely to be a problem with the router, only certain routers work properly with multiple Xboxes

Thanks for your post. Have you attempted to update or at least reset the firmware on your router? If you have the manual for your router there would be instructions included to help you upgrade/reset it's firmware. This will completely reset the settings
on your router and hopefully allow it to connect your Xbox One to the internet.

I thought of that but am worried it will mess up all the other devices and cause new headaches. I was hoping to figure out a way to look at the router settings that directly involve the Xbox but I don't know anything about the advanced features of the
router and if it is even possible to do that. I should have the manual for the router, though. This is funny, by the way, because I do not play Xbox. That would be my kids and I was thinking they have been playing too much. Haha...this could be good for
them.

It could be that the router is filtering out the console's MAC address. What can be done is to log in to the router's settings and from there make sure it's not filtering out the console's MAC. If it is we would need toadd
your console's MAC address to your router's list of authorized MAC addresses.

A good website that tends to guide through this process and even gives the login information for the routers (most of them) is
Setup a port forward in your router to allow incoming connections for multiplayer games, VOIP, DVR, and security cameras.

If you change your router's MAC filtering settings, restart your router before trying to connect to Xbox Live.

 

Try to reset the router to defaults, most of them hace a small reset button, push and hold for 30 seconds. The router would be restored then try again.
