Help getting Windows 10 xbox app to see Xbox One

I had a similar issue with this. My fix was changing the name of my xbox one and refreshing the app to see the new name.
Also had to make sure the wireless display app was installed in the xbox one.

    Xbox one

So the answer is yes. The term "Wireless display" is sort of a misnomer. The display isn't actually wireless, it's more like Remote Desktop, where you're controlling the PC on a different device without the display DIRECTLY (where the wireless part comes
    in) connected to the device.

So this article loosely outlines how it works. You'll need the Wireless Display app installed on the PC and the
Xbox One, and they'll need to be connected to the same local network. You'll connect the two in the app, and then control the PC via the app. A mouse and keyboard hooked up to the Xbox One are the best methods for controlling that, but you could put your
PC in Big Picture mode if you want to control it more easily that way.

It's more like reverse streaming via the Xbox App, but using the Wireless Display app, so it won't be a wireless display, per se, but it will need to be wired to your Xbox.

Let us know if you have any problems or questions in trying to get that set up, and we'll be happy to help!

How do I watch a movie on my android cell phone to my t.v. by using my x-box one?

Xbox One Wireless Display app allows you to project your favorite device screen to your TV through the Xbox.
The Wireless Display app uses Miracast, which quite a few devices support to mirror or extend your screen,
    wirelessly.

White spot in center of screen when running Wireless Dusplay app on Xbox One

    Hi Anthony Lewis5,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We're sorry for the trouble this has caused you.

I am aware that you are experiencing a white spot in the center of the screen when running the Wireless Display app on your Xbox One. This issue may be caused by a number of factors, including interference from other wireless devices, outdated drivers, or a problem with the app itself. Allow me to ask some questions.

    • May I know when did this issue started?
    • What are the troubleshooting steps you have done so far?

To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend the following steps: You can simply skip the ones you've already done.

    1. Check for updates:

Make sure that your Xbox One and the Wireless Display app are both up to date. You can check for updates by going to the Settings menu on your Xbox One and selecting System > Updates.
    2. Check for interference:

Move any other wireless devices away from your Xbox One and your TV to reduce interference. This includes routers, smartphones, and other wireless devices.
    3. Restart your Xbox One:

Sometimes, simply restarting your Xbox One can resolve issues with the Wireless Display app. To do this, hold down the power button on your Xbox One for 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
    4. Reinstall the Wireless Display app:

Uninstall and then reinstall the Wireless Display app.
    5. Try a different device: If the issue persists, try using a different device to connect to the Wireless Display app. This will help you determine if the problem is with your Xbox One or with the app itself.

I hope these helps. Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
