Xbox One Wireless Controller to PC

    Hey guys.

So I've been a PC gamer my whole life but I've had my share of console years too. I've always been a fan of controllers especially for Racing, Sports, etc. games and I've tried to use wired controllers for play. After so long, I've decided to go wireless
and buy one soon and I'm currently eyeing the Xbox One Wireless Controller w/ the 3.5mm jack.

I have these questions in mind at the moment:

    1. Do I still need a wireless adapter to go wireless on PC for the Xbox One Wireless Controller?

    2. The one I saw was only the Controller without the Play & Charge Kit; so I can assume that it's just the Controller and no ways to charge it besides replacing the battery, correct?

    3. How long can I use the wireless controller before replacing with new battery?

    4. Which would be a better option, the one with the Play & Charge Kit or the standalone Controller?

I am currently using an ASUS ROG GL552VW laptop with Windows 10 (Build 15063.250 w/ Anniversary Update a.k.a. latest update until now).

Thank you for answering in advance and I hope you can help me with my problem!

    :)

    Connecting a xbox360 controller to a pc thru xbox360

No that is not possible to connect a controller to your PC through your console. You will need the Xbox 360 wireless USB receiver for windows or buy a pure wired USB xbox 360 controller (microsoft and 3rd party ones available and all will work).

The play and charge USB cable for xbox 360 controllers does not make a wireless controller wired as it only transfers power and not data.

You could buy an xbox one wireless controller that is newer and has bluetooth and connect it to your PC directly as seen on this page: :

You can also use an xbox one wireless controller of any type (with or without bluetooth) with a Micro USB cable on a PC as well. THAT wire does make the xbox one wireless controller act as a wired controller while connected via Micro USB.

Xbox One Wireless Controller to PC

If you get one of the new controllers with Bluetooth, and your P.C. has Bluetooth, you will not need the adapter. I never liked the play and charge kit. Mostly used Duracell 1200mah rechargeable; they would last about a week before swapping them with the
next set. Currently I'm using rechargeable battery packs and a stand for two controllers; charge is good after two weeks, though have been playing the PS4 more, recently.

My controller keeps disconnecting mid game

Is this an Xbox One controller, or an Xbox 360 controller? If it's an Xbox One controller, are you connecting wirelessly to the PC via Bluetooth, or with the Xbox Wireless Adapter?

    Controller xbox360 per pc

    Hi,

Unfortunately unlike the Xbox One controllers, the wireless Xbox 360 controllers remain wireless regardless of whether you connect them to a PC with a Play and Charge. You can't make an Xbox 360 wireless controller a wired controller.

If you want to use your 360 wireless controller on a PC you'll need to buy an Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows.
