Xbox One Wireless Controller Issues

Try doing the hard reset on the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back into the console. Power
up and test for results. Good Luck!

 

I've had the exact same issues with my controller I think its something to do with the update. Since the UI changed I've had nothing but issues. I think it has something to do with how the USB connects to the controller.

My controller does the exact same thing it. If I'm playing wirelessly and have to plug the USB cable in because the battery gets low the controller loses all connectivity once the cable is plugged in. The Home button will either get stuck solid white or
slow blink and vibrate like a pulse. No buttons will work I have to manually turn off the console and hope it resyncs. Usually it doesnt and I have to remove the battery and resync the controller to get the console to see it again. The controller will not
work wired or wireles when this happens. I also notice that the LED on the USB cable doesnt light up sometimes now even though I see the remote charging icon on the Xbox One dash.

I also think it could possibly just be faulty design because sometimes wiggling the usb cable connection at the controller makes it work or makes it not work. I think the connection poiint on the controller breaks easily and causes it to not connect properly.

I'm actually posting this because I just bought my third controller yesterday because out of desperation I was hoping that the controller was just broken.

My first controller got stick drift, the second has this power issue. I also noticed that only the USB port on the side of the console recognizes the controller since the UI change when before they both worked.

My rear usb does work because I have an external drive plugged into the rear and it works fine for the drive but wont recognize the controller so I think its something wrong with the drivers or how it connects to the console.

 

Yep, same problem, seems to be completely random. Tried it with two controllers, still the same. Took it back to the store and they tested it - fine!

Got it home, plugged it in (having reset to factory settings) controller dropped out several times as I was setting the Xbox up - so not even connected to the WiFi.

Tried it with controllers plugged in, with the house WiFi switched off, just kept doing it.

Then this afternoon - perfect! But nothing has changed in the house.

What I did notice though is that whenever the controllers dropped out, invariably it disconnected from the wifi as well.

Something else I have discovered, when the controller drops out and just flashes, the sync button on the side of the x box doesn't do anything. Then give it a few minutes after pressing the button and the XBOX logo flashes once and all comes back to life,
temporarily.

Have Microsoft admitted there is an issue with the WiFi cards in the X box one, it seems to me that even if the controller is plugged in, the WiFi card can randomly disconnect it
