Xbox One wireless controller ghost pressing up on the dpad repeatedly.

My Xbox one controller now has the fun feature of ghost pressing up on the d-pad randomly.

I've power cycled the console. I've updated the firmware. The d-pad is not stuck in the up position. Nothing was spilled on it.

Any thoughts/fix on why its getting ghost input?

Hey Johnny So recently Iv had the Same Problem with my Xbox one Elite comtroller

It ghost Presses left on the Dpad and was causing problems with my gameplay,

I Didnt Have the funds to buy a new Controller

And i needed to fox the problem fast,

Heres what i did, i Went to the setting section on my xbox and reconfigured my button mapping so that the left dpad button had no function,

I would contact xboxsupport and contact them about it.

If your controllers in warranty then xbox should be able to replace it.

Contact xbox support over at support.xbox.com and find on the page contact us.

You can send it for repairs, or clean it using alcohol (not much, of course).

Hi, try this please with the HDMI cable connected.

Hold down the controller's guide button for 3 seconds to power on, and wait for about 20 seconds.

Press up on the dpad once, then right on the dpad 6 times, then down once on the dpad.

Press the A button 4 times. (This will go to System Settings, Console Settings, Display, HDTV settings.)

Press up twice on the dpad and then Press A.

If no picture appears, wait 15 seconds, Press up again and press A. What you are doing is selecting lower display resolutions.

Once you have a picture, you can try other higher settings.

however just a couple of things to check.

The hdmi lead is in the output hdmi port on the xbox and not the input ? trust me this is easily done

Try this blind guide into the settings that I usually give to people who have changed the output resolution but I can't guarantee it will work for you.

Power the xbox on and the controller on but DO NOT touch any buttons or the dpad or thumbsticks.

Using the dpad only make the following movements and button presses

press the menu button on the controller

down twice on the dpad

press A

right three times on the dpad

down once on the dpad

press A

press A

down once on the dpad

press A
