    Xbox One Wireless Controller disconnects or can't connect


    Post title is an Xbox support subject, which, I thought I'd add another solution to. The final solution (#9) is to seek service for your Xbox One. In other words, you've tried everything to connect your controller (which indeed, works), but it's not connecting
    (or even staying powered on) with your Xbox One.

    So here's my #10 -- don't send it to service yet, until you've tried this.

    Turn off your Xbox (if it's on). Grab your microUSB cord and plug your controller into the USB slot on the side of your Xbox. Now, turn on your Xbox. Is the controller now live, connected, and working? Guess what? Your Xbox One does need service. Why?
    It's the console, not the controller. But wait!!

    Don't what to spend a couple hundred bucks sending it to a Microsoft store to get fixed? That's an ouch! Better that you save for that new Xbox One X. After all, if you bought your Xbox One X when it came out, it's now about 3-1/2 years old and reached
    MS's "terms of obsolescence." HOWEVER!

    You can still play your games until you get that new console, and you can even sit 4 meters away from your TV (if you play like I do). Get a USB extension cable (mine's 1m long) -- that's a USB cable with a male connector at one end, and a female connector
    at the other. Then, find a 2-3m microUSB cable to run from the extension cable. Voila! You now have a wired Xbox One controller that functions. Now save a few more bucks to get that Xbox One X.

    Note that if your controller still doesn't connect, this won't work. Good luck and keep gamin'! See you on ... the Battlefield!

    "am I being stupid".... No, everyone has trouble from time to time. But, let me suggest following up with a couple of things, "Connect a wireless
    Xbox One controller to your console    " and "Xbox One Wireless Controller disconnects or can't connect" . Let us know if you continue to have
    issues connecting the controller to your Xbox.

    When you say "I tried to connect the control through the USB cable for 10 minutes on the console", does that mean you were able to perform the steps outlined in "Connect
    a wireless Xbox One controller to your console    " ? If so, you may need to follow up with "Xbox One Wireless Controller disconnects or can't connect"
