Xbox One Wireless Controller Disconnect Range

My controller will stay connected only if 2 inches from the face of the console. If pulled back any further it will disconnect. Any fixes?

Can wireless adapter be used with the Xbox One to increase controller range?

I've got my Xbox One in another room to my TV and as the Xbox One Controller uses direct wifi to connect its range is severely limited, so I'm right on the limit of the range and my controller disconnects itself one average every 2 - 3 minutes. If I were
to use the wireless adapter on the Xbox one with a USB extender, would that allow me to extend the Xbox Controller range?

Have you tried another controller? Has this ever worked? If it's just one controller, then there is likely something wrong with the controller itself. Also try updating the controller firmware. To do this, press the Menu button,
select Settings, select System, select Update controller, and then select Continue.

Let us know on the first two questions, and if the updated fixed your issue.

It's odd that the disconnection problem seems to only happen for FIFA 16/17. Have you checked out the troubleshooting article for

Xbox One wireless controller disconnects or can't connect? Since it sounds like it works fine when connected, it could possibly be a battery or range issue.

If this is something you're still experiencing, we're afraid there is no range extender for Xbox One wireless controllers. However,

controller disconnections can occur for a variety of reasons.

It sounds like you could be too far away from your Xbox One console and/or experiencing wireless interference with that other equipment you mentioned. More on that can be found via Solution 5 of the guide we sent you above.
